Milford sound NZ

Milford Sound is a fjord in the south west of New Zealands South Island, within Fjordland National Park. It is inscribed as a World Heritage Site for its natural wonders, and also is acclaimed as New Zealand's own most famous tourist destination. The Sound was once a very large glacier, yet lithosphere movement, freezing polar temperatures and stream corrosion are among the reasons why Milford Sound is what it is today. Tourist attractions include the Mirror Lake where you behold the stunning reflections of towering mountains on crystal-clear water; the Monkey Creek where you can refresh yourself with pure natural mineral water; and the spectacular Bowen Falls that rises 160 meters to the sky. You will probably have the chance to get up close and personal with seals as they sunbathe on undulating rocks. Here is one of the very few places on earth where you can literally detoxify your respiratory system, simply by breathing in naturally pure fresh air.

Hanging Coffins of Sagada

I took this photo one and a half year ago. This is one of the attractions in Sagada, Mt. Province and it is called the Hanging Coffins where the ancient ancestors of the natives place their dead relatives on a coffin by the cliff.

Mysore-Chaumundi-Hills

One of the main attractions in Mysore - Chamundi Hills, situated 3km southeast of the city, is topped with a temple to the chosen deity of the Mysore Rajas; the goddess Chamundi, or Durga, who slew the demon buffalo Mahishasura. It's a pleasant, easy bus trip to the top; the walk down, past a huge Nandi, Shiva's bull, takes about thirty minutes. The forty-metregopura, at the entrance is an attraction to both the eyes& mind. A statue of the demon Mahishasura from whom the city got its name, attracts as soon as you are atop the hills. It mainly attracts the children for its colorfulness and its size. Non-Hindus can also visit the twelfth-century temple. The idol of goddess Chamundi inside sanctorum sanctuary is solid gold. The magnificent five-metre Nandi, carved from a single piece of black-granite in 1659, is an object of worship himself, adorned with bells and garlands and tended by his own priest. Minor shrines, dedicated to Chamundi and Hanuman among others, line the side of the path .

Kappad beach

The beauty of Kappad is not the sole reason for the ever increasing number of tourists flocking it. Kappad has its historical and religious attractions too, in store for the benefit of tourists. Located at a distance of 16 km from the Kozikode town, the Kappad beach is wrapped in a sheet of history. Uncover it to know that this was the land where the famous Portuguese sailor, Vasco da Gama set his feet in the year 1498 along with 170 men. This marked the beginning of a new era and new relationship between the Indians and the Portuguese which lasted for 4 to 5 centuries later. Today, Kappad attracts a whole lot of visitors desirous of knowing more about the Portuguese and the native Indians of that time. Also, the unblemished beauty and serenity of the beach is something that is intact despite increasing tourism.

Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park became the world’s first national park in 1872. Spanning an area of 2,200,000 acres, visitors need at least two full days just to visit some of its major attractions. Some of the most popular areas in the park include the Old Faithful geyser – truly a feast for the eyes and the soul – and several large hot springs and waterfalls. Roaming the area are free-ranging herds of American bison, Rocky Mountain elks, Grizzly bears and other rare flora and fauna rarely to be found elsewhere.
