we have been very pleased with people coming to stay with us. We have been hosting students and travelers from other countries like China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Spain, Mexico, Germany etc., and they would bring us presents when they arrive. We have been lucky to get nice and well behaved people to occupy our suites downstairs and it has been pretty rewarding experience. We don't really expect any gifts but it seems that it is customary for them to bring gifts to their host families. Yesterday, another 16 year old Japanese girl arrived and she's very pleasant and polite. My goodness me! She brought us 2 bags full of presents and goodies from Japan and I must say we were very surprised!
