I was watching T.V. and working on one of the comb/barrette things.
When I'm done weaving one of these, I stitch up and down the spaces in the yarn that are on the teeth of the comb, then pull it off and stitch the sides shut....

I made another..."thingy" on a comb. As it turns out, that "loose thread" happened again. It must be something that happens with the stitching. I stitched up the side of it to cover the loose thread and down the other side, too...

I did a comb weaving/knitting/whatever-you-want-to-call it thing--but I didn't quite get it right--I didn't do some of the stitching to hold it together. I'll just use this for a bookmark or something.
Not sure why I did it...

One thing my mother left me was a big bag of soft mohair-type knitting wool in lovely shades of red. She obviously saw the bag-full on sale somewhere – I guess it was probably an end of range or the like, but there were no labels...

I guess it was a pretty good day yesterday.
I went to Hobby Lobby to get some yarn for a blanket that I will be making for my oldest grandson. I also stopped at Best Buy so that I could get a mouse pad and a stylus to use on my...

Well, I found my pattern yesterday and measured out the throw blanket today. I'm currently 19 inches short of where it needs to be so I can finish out the pattern.
Each row is 1/2" so that means I need to crochet 38 more rows to...

I just sat down to crochet on my mom's blanket for a bit and realized that I have lost the pattern. It's a 2 row repeat so the pattern is important.
Right now I wish it was something that I didn't need a pattern for. Oh, well....

We lost my sister-in-law about 15 months ago. She was a great knitter but always had bad eyesight. Eventually, she had to give up her knitting and sewing. Her husband has given me a lot of her yarn and I’ve been gradually using it...

A long time ago, at the start of the year, I started knitting a pair of fingerless gloves, using some interesting yarn that was a blend of colours.

For the past little over a month, I have been trying to get some yarn that I have in the closet used up. I've been crocheting hats for the donation box for this winter. I've been making a little dent in the progress of using up...

In recent years a bit of a ‘thing’ has developed for so-called ‘yarn-bombing’ - decorating street furniture such as lamp posts with knitted or crocheted covers. I’ve seen it done in a couple of places, especially in preparation...

Well, I signed up with a new cashback site and made another hobby lobby purchase because someone (me) made the mistake of checking their website to see if the yarn sale was still ongoing.
Hobby Lobby is a hop, skip and a...

Pictured is eight skeins of yarn that I recently bought. Aren't they all pretty and spring-like? Well, one is kind of summer-like, but yeah...

Is a line from some 90's movie that I don't know the context of.
However, it's used a lot in American English lingo and no, don't ask me which generations use it. I hardly use it, except for now.
Lionbrand is a yarn based...

So, I've heard of this type of yarn before but I've never bought it. I'm going to actually share a youtube video instead of a link directly to the yarn because I think most people...

They supposedly started shipping out around the 12th, usually do around that time (or so I've read). Here it...

I thought I might have missed a stitch about oh... eight or so rows back, but I kept going because it didn't quite look like I had. Oh well, It shouldn't take me too long to frog to that part and fix...
