Would you adopt?

coffeeshot @coffeeshot (3783) • Australia 7 Feb 07

I'd love to adopt children. To think that so many are in orphanages who need a home and so many people are just going around having babies freely makes me angry. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with wanting your own...

AstaireLabyrinth I don't completely agree. I think that since not everyone wants to adopt. Something should be put in place to ensure a healthy family type situation for the orphans who aren't adopted. I think people should adopt more in America though. And that people should...

V's training of Evey

Yabba79 @Yabba79 (48) • United States 3 Dec 06

After V subjected Evey to days of "prison" she emerged strong, and more self assured. Do you feel V was cruel to have done this? Do you feel V knew he needed to show Evey how to survice because he would not be there to protect...

AstaireLabyrinth It was cruel, but it was necessary. Without it, she would have never emerged an independent strong individual. She would have continued life in fear. Afraid of herself, what she wants, everything. I'm not condoning torture, but V gave his love the greatest...

Silly Double Standards

tmcspadden @tmcspadden (220) • United States 2 Dec 06

Have you ever known anyone that just entertained some of the most insane double standards? Something is bad for others but okay for them? Recently a friend of mine was coming down to visit me for my birthday. The guy I...

AstaireLabyrinth I know a lot of people like who have a double standard for everything. I guess that we tend to ignore it or respect it because its our friend, but when we see it in others it pisses us off because we know its wrong in a way.

AstaireLabyrinth I don't know. It's weird. It is almost like people are afraid to say hi. Maybe it is that they feel uneasy talking to strangers because of the huge lack of trust growing in our society of the unknown due to the history of our society.

AstaireLabyrinth It depends on the party situation. If it is prom or homecoming, you really can't go home and change your dress, makeup, and shoes. That situation happened to me homecoming freshmen year, and it occurred to the majority of the girls from my school at prom. I...
