My favorite authors include Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen Chbosky, and John Irving. Who is/are everyone elses favorites? What kind of genre is their books?

Chuck Palahniuk is, in my opinion, one of the most amazing authors of all time. He's written books such as Haunted, Choke, Fight Club, etc. Has anyone read these, or any of his other work? If so, what did you think?
