I just started knitting about a month ago, and I really like it. So far I've only made scarves in garter, purl, and seed stitches. I'm looking for something else to make that is easy, but is not a scarf. Any suggestions?

draconess I'm looking for a really easy tank top pattern I can knit just with straight needles- anyone have any good suggestions? Maybe something like www.knitty.com/issuespring05/PATTmariposa.html ? Would this be a good beginner project, having only knitted scarves?

krebstar5 Wow, what a fun discussion. I actually agree with a lot of people on here, so I will just try to make a list with some new people that we can talk about. These are in no particular order: 1) Ryan Seacrest 2) Tara Reid (not much talent there) 3) Emril (his...

krebstar5 Oh, it's so nice to see other people who don't like Rachel Ray. Honestly, I am just so sick of seeing her everywhere. I'm hoping that she will start to be less noticable with time. Emril used to drive me insane, but it seems like he is around a lot less now. I...

OK, so this has been gnawing at me for a while. When it's all said and done, what's the least expensive grocery store? I have a Trader Joe's that I go to most frequently, but I sometimes wonder if the neighborhood Safeway is...

shiningfae See, in terms of "ultimately cheaper," I would pick Trader Joe's simply because of the quality and healthfulness of the food. It might not be the cheapest place in town at the moment, but I truly believe the health benefits will outweigh the cost and prevent...

pndimonium I LOVE TRADER JOES!!! I'll endorse TJs all day for food w/ flavor! I think they're inexpensive for majority of their staple products (kinda high on the produce); but they save you money due to the lack of the marketing dollars stores usually spend. Where else...

awonderfullife I've never been to Safeway, but we have a Trader Joe's down the road. I love it. But it is DEFINITELY more expensive than a regular grocery store. I shop tehre for certain gourmet-type items that the regular grocery doesn't carry.

krebstar5 I also do this. IT's bad because it can lead me to buy a lot of things that I don't really need. Then they just sit around my apartment and take up space. To cut back on this, I've been taking people shopping with me. Before we go out, I explain to them what I...
