I have a dear friend who is terminally ill. Her illness requires her to take steroids, which cause her to bloat, and other medications make her skin break out. When she got married, about 15 years ago, she was thin, healthy,...

dietrie I'll be hoping for the best for her! And I will say a little prayer for her tonight. Please update this thread in the future, so we can know how she fairs. All the best to her, and to you... she is very lucky to have such a strong and caring friend.

when somebody will tell you this...do you really believe what he/she is telling you?? for me, this line is so hard to believe...almost everyone says this but most of them do not really mean it... :(

dietrie I think this type of sentiment is better expressed through what you do, and not what you say. I would prefer to be with someone who consistently SHOWS how much he cares for me by respecting me, showing me how I am special to him and important in his life,...

dietrie Well, the next thought I have is that maybe you, or she with your help, should make the first step as seeking some legal guidance. Maybe in her heart her biggest fear is losing custody of the children to him, and that is why she doesn't want to leave. But,...

Do you consider yourself an extrovert or an introvert? I consider myself to be an introvert-- I am quiet, introspective, reflective, and shy. I have only a few friends that I'm really close to but people approach me if they need a...

dietrie I consider myself to be an introvert as well. Once a person gets to know me, however, they can hardly get me to shut up! I would say when I first meet somebody I am pretty shy although I try to hide it and come off as confident. Once I am well known to a group...

I heard that if you put a newborn in the water, he/she will be able to swim without any problem. They can even handle staying submerged! Is this true?

dietrie I think many people tend to be co-dependant nowadays (and probably always). They let their relationships define them and think of themselves as only part of a whole. I think this is the reason for the saying that love is blind. Because people can overlook all...

Many people tend to define success based on the money in their bank account, the car they drive, the neighborhood they live in and/or the toys they own. How do you measure success?

5 responses

dietrie I measure success in how happy I am, how happy my family is and how happy I can make other people I am in contact with in my life. I have always felt like I don't need a lot of fancy things to be happy, all I really want is to make the most of my life and the...
