patgalca I suggest you borrow all her books from her to avoid this from continuing. There are plenty of organizations the books can be donated to. There are seniors' homes who would love to have them, libraries, or even charitable secondhand stores like the Salvation...

howard96h Hi my friend, what a waste, she should give them away or donate them to a charity or to the library. I don't know why she buys them new in the first place, she should get them from the library to read.

ravinskye wow that is unbelievable! I buy my books mostly at yard sales and then when I'm done I will either pass them on to someone else or I will put them in our yard sale. I can't believe she would just throw them away? who does that?

auntiedis It's definitely worth checking out, you can get some good books there. You can make a list for books you want, and if someone lists them you get first dibs. It shaves a little bit of money off my summer reading bill!
