forbia I've seen the movies and I've read the books. I prefer the books. I didn't really enjoy all of the dramatic changes to the characters that happened in translating the book to movie-form. Overall, though, I do think that the movies were very, very enjoyable,...

Which LOTR character are you?

Kangleicha @Kangleicha (376) • India 15 Jan 07

I want to be Legolas Greenleaf. He is so cool. Well, Aragon is ok, but I like elves better than man.

forbia I think I'd probably relate most to Eowyn. She's just this beautifully detailed character (especially if you read the books) and just has such heart and strength. Even in the face of such doom and such tragedy and even though she very clearly (book-verse)...

why does movies such as LORD OF THE RINGS AND ERAGON make it to the top? what are we as people looking for right now?

forbia Well, I think a lot of the success of The Lord of the Rings is because of Tolkien and this particular book's history and importance. There was already a huge following for about half a century; that has to count for something. I think another big reason is...

What is your favourite character in the whole of middle earth?, and why?

elpollodiablo @elpollodiablo (42) 22 Jan 07

King Thranduil of Mirkwood and Glorfindel of the house of Elrond would have to be my favourite, Thranduil because he was the leader of the wood elves and he was a good king, other than that i don't know why i like Thranduil so...

forbia Are you suggesting Radagast didn't do what he set out to do? You reminded me of something though which your mention of age and that's that I forgot to mention Tom Bombadil when saying what character I love most.

forbia Personally, I think Glorfindel of Gondolin is the same as Glorfindel of Imladris. I know there's controversy over that, but even the Professor liked the idea so I'm going with that. I really don't know who's my favorite though...I guess I have a lot of...

forbia I think they're really setting up either Jack or Sawyer to die. I'm not really sure which one will get the axe, but I'm fairly positive it will be one of the two. If it is Jack, I think that would be because Matthew Fox wants out and I haven't heard any such...

forbia I think the "best" character would definitely have to be Gollum/Smeagol. He's the most complex and flesh-out and is just very compelling. My favorite character though was probably Eomer. ;)
