Why do women adopt their husband's surname?

peachtabernilla @peachtabernilla (305) • Philippines 30 Jan 07

I really wonder why? I think women should have the freedom of choosing their last name. Do you think this is a manifestation of man's masculinity in our society?

jenvalenzuela u now have the option (as i know here in the philippines, im not sure though how it is in other countries)to either adapt with your husband's name or not. But i think it still would be best if you live by with your husband's surname because it would not...

What is your relligion? Your faith? Your beliefs? No judgements here.

jumpinjack00 @jumpinjack00 (3054) • United States 22 Jun 07

I personally don't classify myself under any named religion new or old. I do believe there is a Supreme Being of some sort. What it is I don't know for sure but I do believe that it is all things. I don't care if we're...

As a psychic, would you ever give really bad news?

ESKARENA1 @ESKARENA1 (18260) 18 May 07

I was engaged to give a reading for someone last night. As i tuned in, i was shown the most terrible things. Now, I chose not to pass the information on, but it was quite clear, was i wrong to edit the reading in this way?

jenvalenzuela I think one good thing about being a psychic is seeing the future--either the bad or the good that could possibly happen to a person. Though I still find myself hesitant to believe on psychic powers, I highly agree that you, having the vision, should tell this...

What is it asbout some people?

ESKARENA1 @ESKARENA1 (18260) 22 May 07

This struck me quite hard today browsing through mylot, why are people generally much happier complaining, pointing out problems or failings in others, telling others why they are wrong, than actually celebrating life and the...

jenvalenzuela I don't really think they are happy with complaining. Maybe its just that they are too preoccupied with things that's been bothering them which brings them here in mylot and so they discuss with the people all of their qualms and complaints in life. I...

black ants or red ants... which one do you prefer?

ronreyes @ronreyes (4724) • Philippines 7 May 07

Red ants are the worst because they do bite us. Personally, I think I prefer black ants because they're friendly and fast-moving also. I also like the color black! Heehee. If one day, there will be a world wrestling federation...

Do you let your partner read your email?

jenvalenzuela There is actually no generalized answer in this. I mean, having an access to his/her partner's email is something consentual. One would say both should respect each other's privacy and own personal space while another would say there's really nothing wrong...

jenvalenzuela is there such? Or is it only me who doesnt know it exists? I love roses...white, red and pink roses! If there is indeed a black rose, i wouldn't admire it...for me it signifies death. And at this point in time of my life, the thought makes me sad.

jenvalenzuela Yeah I'am so sleep deprived. I'am a student nurse (currently on my third year in Nursing here in the Philippines), and my sleep pattern has been destroyed. I've been rotated on different shifts, but I find it hard to cope up with the 11pm to 7am schedule. I...
