why not 256 bit computer

We have application which run only on 64 bit, some only in 32 or even 16. Why can't we custom made with programmable logic some whopping 256 bit computer. Thank you for answering.

kingdomfei the development of computer is very fast,but as far as i know ,the time the 32-bit computer replace the place the 16bit is very long .so the 64bit

kingdomfei i think the 64-bit computer system is more advance more than the 32-bit,it could have a faster speed than 32 or 16.just like cpu,which but i'm not sure.
