It is so relaxing and comfortable listening to the birds, having bbq, sitting by the river, at night setting a fire, watching at the ski, the stars... The preparation and building up to the thought of getting to spend time away from home is really exciting. So relaxing, so carefree, only thing is so many raccoons and scary noises at night. The last time we went it was cold as hell at night. But we always have fun. I go with like 4-5 friends and we(me and my boyfriend) had a lot fun... (The only thing I don't like about it is when I share with other people, they snore while they sleep and it keeps me up ..lol!ha ha ha) I love camping and i can't wait for summer... Do you like camping with your friends? When you had camping last time?

I haven't been camping in a long, long time. I would like to do it again. Years ago, I had a cabin in the woods that I built myself. It was about 230 miles from where I lived at the time. We would go up there often and I got out of the habit of camping using a tent or camper. You can't beat camping in the outdoors and being around nature. Raccoon stew anyone?

Yours is very similar to what I'm into nowadays. I went mountain climbing several times with my boyfriend. And I'm really having fun. We usually have a night trek. =)

It's been a long time since I camped with my friends. We went on a tour to the desert and slept outside our tents. We had several camels resting near by.Of course I couldn't sleep the whole night because I didn't want to miss the fun.I too find it difficult to sleep when someone is snoring around me,lol. If the person is a friend then i can clip his or her nose and they will breathe through mouth without any noise, lol.

Camping means nature camp! It provides so many things but what is more important is this: It associates you with nature and provides you an assurence that nature really always gives you! It angages you with your inner nature by implanting the seed of nature being! It lifts you from your smalll circle and puts you in a wide range where the meaning of life has meaningful depth! Thanks for providing me this oportunity to put this responce here!

we go all the time and i love it. my kids have a blast. we usally go hubby, me, my 2 kids, and my husbands bestfriend. then sometimes his wife , grandkids, uncles, sisters , etc come too. then there are times my cousins go along as well. we have alot of fun but are usally really tired whenw e come back. i like ti when it is just hubby me and the kids though. it is fun just being together. but i do like when his friend goes too cause i dont have to clean fish or anything. we went camping a few weeks ago and are trying to come up with the money to go again. gas is a killer right now. we go fishing just about every other day though

I have not been camping in such a long time and i really miss it. Also if it is done right it is a cheap way to get away. I have been so busy i really never had a chance to go. Ever since i have been trying to be more physically active and healthier i have had more energy and the low energy is alot of the reason too that i havent been camping too. I will be this year getting out in the air does you so good. Cant wait to make my first trip this year under the stars sitting by the fire all that stuff now you got me going cant wait.

I was walking down by the Taff River (Cardiff) the other day that is about 10 minutes walk from our house. Even though there is a busy road about a quarter of a mile away, the bird song echoed amongst the trees and it was like an ancient world that nothing had touched. It was a long time ago when I had that sort of experience. A group of us had gone camping in a similar place and my walk had brought it all flooding back.

Hi Augustta, hope all is well. Oh Wow! I haven't been camping in a LONG time ( about 4 or 5 years). The last time I went I remember getting eaten alive and the tent we had sprung a leak and everything ended up getting drenched because it poured the night we got there. We went in the car for shelter, freezing our butts off and shivering. The day was nice though. We set up the tent, had a nice picnic lunch, made a fire, had supper and toasted marshmallows with scary stories by the fire. My now hubby (we were still dating then) and I went with 4 of our friends (2 couples). It ended up crappy because of all the rain, but was fun when we first got there. Thanks for the memories!

I guess I liked it also some years ago.. lol Now I rather stay in a cheap hotel and not have to build the tent. I think age turns us a little more lazy in somethings. I prefer to sleep in a bed with sheets, watch a little television, read my book and next day have a breakfast waiting for me and no meals preparation, no cleaning,.. Sounds nice.. I think I begin to need a vacation.. ;)

I have to agree with you. I love getting into the great outdoors. When I stay at a camping ground I prefer to stay in a tent and not a cabin. I just wish I got to do it more.

yeah Camping is lotta fun . I m into my engineering collges and we a bunch of freaks you may say skip our lectures take our bikes and ride to the nearest forest and camp. its hell loota fun when music system playing playing hard rock and you know thers gonna be no one to disturb you and pathus party whole night. the worst part next day again you have to go and attend lectures and your whole body is paining like anything you just somehow rise from bed reach ur classromms and as soon as lecturer starts with his old crap you fall asleep. its was once our whole bunch fell asleep and thus we all wre thrown out but its FUN
