Do you cast a circle or set an altar every night?

I know most people who follow the wicca or pagan path will only set up their altar or cast a circle only when they do a spell...but I've gotten in the habit of casting a circle and setting up my altar every night since I began my journey on this path...just gives me a sense of comfort somehow

I used to do this when I lived alone and had the privacy to do it. Not so these days. I must wait for the proper moment, and even then - I find it hard to go uninterrupted. Right now my spellcasting room (would you believe, it's my bathroom) is being used for finishing guitar parts. Because of the volitile nature of paint and paint thinners, I can't even have a nice bath and some candles anymore. ARGGGG!!!! *cough* I'll get over it and do my ceremonies once Hubby has gone to bed, or I'd better get used to doing them very early in the morning! :)

Does your hubby disapprove of your spellcasting or against it?? That's one good thing about my mom...one of the few--she passed away last summer, but when I decided to follow the wiccan/pagan path she didn't bat an eye about my altar set-up or anything..so I was pretty much free to do things whenever I wanted...now my friends is another matter...I had just set up my things, and a friend popped by..now she knew of my path..yet when she saw my altar and everything in its full glory, I think her eyes popped out a bit...LOL

Unfortunately, no. I wish..but I have lived in limited space for some years now..so I can only cast a circle or come up with some kind of altar whenever I do work with magick..or else when I feel it's necessary. Like with lots I guess, I'm random..sporradic with my methods, times, and styles in doing this too. There's something comforting with anything sacred..to me anyway. I could be in a temple, or a church..or in a wood which has been left untouched by man for years..and it's such an odd feeling. But it's wonderful too. I dunno..lol.

I actually dont have an altar at all...I guess you could say the great outdoors is my altar really...and I never cast a circle simply because I dont feel the need to, its just not something I think (for me personally) is required..

I hardly ever cast a circle. it's not really a common feature in Traditional Witchcraft. the only times I have used a circle are if I am very tired and need it to help contain my own energy, which can tend to be a bit erratic when I'm tired (I don't draw energy from external sources except in extreme and consensual circumstances, otherwise I see it as a form of psychic vampirism. I use my own energy, this is my half of the transaction with the universe) or If I'm working a group, and need to contain a larger amount of energy than my own alone.

i dont cast a circle or set an altar every night the magick circle is quite powerful and you can use it to help protect yourself and give you clear thinking about things you want to know about i do light candles though a lot as i find them very relaxing and sometimes i use aromatherapy candles as the scents take away negative energies sometimes if you set an altar every night or a circle it can work against you i think as the circle brings magick and you have to focus on what you want that magick to do if you just leave it then the energies will just be there for anyone to pick up i dont know what you use the altar for maybe to pray but in a way thats like giving up your own thoughts and giving them to someone else to look after

My altar is always set up. It is in my bedroom right next to my computer desk. I like to look at it everyday. The way I have it set up nobody can tell it's an altar. Although my family knows it, and they all know never to set anything on it.
