Anyone growing herbs this season?

So it is spring, and I am watching the herbs come up. I have mints, a couple of valerian roots, a big mugwort, some cooking herbs, and a whole bunch of catnip growing.
I am thinking about planting some basil, and I need to start a new rosemary. I have planted a whole bunch of Egyptian Clives; the one I have went to seed last year.
So is anyone else growing herbs this year? If so, what type?

I have some mint and herbs as well. I am also growing some fruit. Fruit is my new crop for now, I have enough of the other stuff(tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs.....), at least for now.

I am growing strawberries, kiwi and cataloupe. No, nothing yet. In fact, I don't expect to see anything this year at all. I will keep you posted of my progress...

Yeah, strawberries take awhile to establish. We lost half of our patch last year because we couldn't water during part of the hottest time of the season. :(

I have a vegetable garden going, so I wasn't able to do many herbs. The only herbs I have at the moment are chives & green onions. This is the first year in this apartment, and we have been lucky to use the yard to plant a garden. I have plans for next year though. I would love to plant a lot of herbs, but first I need to learn how to dry them etc. So I can keep them on hand longer than just a few days.

Thanks! I can't wait to do this. I'm excited to see what fresh dried herbs taste like.

You are welcome.
I find them better than the commerically produced stuff.

I tend to harvest my herbs in small batches (or at least, I try to--the last harvest is always larger than normal). Unless you have screens to dry stuff on, you want to keep flipping the batches a couple of times a day until they are completely dry (otherwise herbs can go moldy). And when you put them in jars, watch to see if you end up with condensation in the jar; if you do, you need to dry the herbs some more.

Yep, even in this rental the basil will be with the tomatoes and the dill is sitting in its place of honor. My sweet Annie will have her feet in the bed near the dill and lambs ear and thyme, and others will be in thier beds this week. Cannot live without the herbs. Practical and often tastey. Good luck with yours!!

Thanks, I will need luck with the dill I decided to plant. Maybe year three is the charm.

I don't have as many kinds as I would like and will probably plant more of a variety in the future. Right now I only have some chives and mint growing in my garden. I have them planted along the edge of my flower garden because I only have a small garden each year. Last year I also planted a strawberry patch and some raspberries so I hope to have some fruit from them this year.

Our soil isn't real good either, but we had a few strawberries last year even though we only planted them last year so hopefully we will at least get a few. I don't expect to get a lot yet, but hopefully at least enough to snitch a handful or so out of the garden.

Our raspberry patch is getting larger. Not much fruit, but it keeps the neighbor's dog from digging under that part of the fence. I find that strawberries don't get going until year three, but that may just be my yard--I don't have decent soil here at all.

I thought that I was going to have a few this year, but this last hail pounded them to nothing. *sigh*

No but I wish I was. Living on the third floor doesn't give me any dirt to grow anything in. I would like to grow basil, parsley and mint. Probably some others but I can't think of any right now.

You might want to consider some window boxes. That is what I was growing herbs in until I moved into a house. In fact, considering how my mints have spread out, perhaps I should of kept them in pots. Mints, mints everywhere. But in their defense, it does keep the weeds in control.
