Did you hear about the spammer that got arrested?

He was supposedly responsible for most of our spam mail. The news blurb on the radio said we could probably see a reduction in the amount of spam we receive. How in the world could one man be responsible for so much spam? I got less than 100 spam emails for Monday, and that is a lot less that usually gets put in my bulk email box, so it must be true. Can you tell if you are getting less spam?

I checked my filter, and yes, I am getting slightly less. Notice the guy was not arrested for spamming, he was arrested for using virii and other methods to take over other peoples computers and have them do the spamming for him!

I doubt that one person can reduce the amount of spam we get. In fact, I am not bothered by the spams as all spam mails are directed automatically to the spam folder. I do believe that some of these spams might be caused by virus.

That is wonderful news! I can't imagine how one person can be responsible for so much spam. Someone else said it was that he loaded viruses that spammed, even that is amazing. I haven't noticed a marked reduction in my junk mail. But I didn't get that much to start with.

I don't believe i am getting less spam at all. I seem to get about spam emails a day. Maybe a couple of good ones. Most of them the email spam filter catches though. Which is good for me.

I hadn't noticed it, but I think you are riight. There does seem to be a lot less junk in the junk mailbox. It is hard to believe that one person could make that much difference.

There was a news article about him on the Yahoo home page a few days ago. There was a 35 count indictment against him and he pled guilty to all of the charges. He was one of the top ten spammers in the world. He is only 27 years old. I am thrilled that he has been arrested.

I am getting a lot less spam as well, but my ISP have just put in place a spam protection system so perhaps that is working as well. I just hope that this sends out a message to those that decide to send out all the spam, watch out.

I didn't hear about the spammer being caught but my spam hasn't gone down at all. In fact, it's gone up up up. I'm up to 150+ in my bulk folder a day. Couple weeks ago it was only 50 tops a day.

I haven't really noticed, I guess my spam filters work pretty good already. If he was guilty, I'm glad they got him. Spam can be such a nuisance sometimes.

I read about that too on my MSN news. It made my day but it didn't make one iota of difference in my spam box, lol. It's about high time they start doing something about these spammers. Every day I get at least 50 to 100 spams. Some of them are from the same place and there's 10 to 20 of them in a row. (Like mass mailing the same thing over and over is going to make me open it...yeah, sure, lol.) What good is the blessed 'canned spam' act if nobody's actually going to penalize these guys?! I hope this is the start of a new trend!

I did not hear about the person who got arrested for the spam. I have noticed a somewhat decrease in spam though not much. I am sure this person probably has people working with him with sending spam worldwide. I am glad that he got arrested. Serves him right for doing such a thing. Hopefully this will send a message to other people doing the same thing.

Mine comes in spurts, but since my internet wasn't working most of the weekend, I expected to be burried when I got back online today and there really wasn't much spam there. I was really amazed.

Unbelievable. I can't imagine someone doing that, or wanting to do that. I am glad they were caught. Put him the (spammer ha ha), and let him think about it.

Hello esther. I also received a lot of spam on my email daily. I noticed lately I'm getting less and less of those spam. I don't know if it has to do with the new anitvirus, anti-spyware program I installed or just because the spammer you mentioned was arrested. It would be my day if my email had no spam mails at all.

i get lots of them too
