Well it's that time that I hate again....grocery shopping. It has to be one of the most miserable experiences for me. It generally starts in the fruit and vegetables section. I'll reach in for a fresh head of lettuce and those water sprayers will come on just as I pop my head in. I'm convinced theres someone monitroing that section on CCTV just waiting for someone to reach in ( i generally buy shampoo first so that I can wash my hair while I'm there...kill 2 birds with one stone). Then there are those people who just have to have a conversation whilst taking up the entire aisle with their shopping carts and they get agitated when you want to get by...closely followed by the person who is so busy scanning the chickpea section that they run their cart right up the back of your leg....then comes checkout....no matter when I go, it's always really busy and there is only 1 cashier working and they are also doubling as the bagger. % hours later, I'm done and I go out to my car which has been scraped and dinged by someone who just left their cart to run across the lot to hit my van....always my van...never the surrounding cars...oh well, wish me luck

Guard that freshly tattood arm with your life! It would smart very badly if someone were to hit it with a grocery cart, or a falling jar of mayonaise or such! Actually, should you end up in any blocked aisles, you could begin to cough violently and then exclaim loudly, "darn, I knew I shouldn't have taken that flight, I be that darned SOB gave me that TB." Surely they would waddle out of your way?!

Poor Baby! Good luck. Your story reminds me a female person (she was no lady) who blocked half the aisle with her cart and the other half with her body. I said excuse me as I wanted to pass to get something further down the aisle. She ignored me, so I tried to get by her and she said, "I'm not done here, did you want something?" At that point I reached out and gave her cart a hard push and sent it down the aisle. As I walked past her I said, "No thanks, I took care of the problem."

Good luck. To bad you don't live by me. I love shopping even with all that. I would do shopping with you - or at least offer to help.

I don't mind grocery shopping...but I do have a secret. I go really early or really late. People just make me so insane that I try my best to avoid them...plus, tere is something oddly poetic about the supermarket at really ood hours...it feels like a movie, or sitcom...or perhaps a Jayne's additcion video. I live in an urban area so I do most of my shopping on foot, with my "little ol' Granny" cart. Since I've already got a cart, that is what I use for my shopping too...then I check out and just drag my little cart home. Granted this can get old sometimes, and that's when I employ the car. But going when there are less people helps keep me more sane. ps- Leatherface came out amazing...amazingly creepy!!!!

I hate to go grocery shopping also. I live in a small town and the store we have is horrible. The prices are high and the food quality is low. I usually try to save up my money so I can drive the 20 miles to get to a good store.

Well Good Luck..LOL I Go through the same thing everytime I go Shopping so dont feel Bad. No Matter what line I get in something happens and I have to wait longer. I like to shop like say 6am in the morning or late at night right before they close anymore and it seems to be working out well for me. If you can do that I recomend it for sure. Have a Great Day/Night.

I tried the late night thing (we have a 24-hour Wal-Mart supercenter) and although it was quiet they were re-stocking the shelves and you couldn't get near any of the products...I'm just grocery jinxed I think

I have somehow earned the privilege of shopping with some of my clients. They are developmentally delayed or mentally ill adults. They have lots of turnover in staff, and they never, ever, ever forget anyone who has ever worked with them. They know lots of other clients from the other two agencies in town. We hug our way through the store. Sometimes I take a person with OCD. LoL. For my personal grocery shopping, I deliberately dodge anyone I might know, and I know almost all of them, it is a small (14,000) town, and I have lived here over thirty years. I almost am a member of the town. I speed through, and use the self checkout if possible. Of course it malfunctions. Hubby can always think of a reason to go shopping.

Do what I do. Get an extra refrigerator and buy grocerys once a month. I stock up 2-3 months on dry goods and usually buy things like meat, bread, and milk every 4-6 weeks.

I like grocery shopping. And it's a good thing that I don't usually experience those hassles that you've mentioned, except I think for the lines. I don't know if its in one of murphy's law wherein no matter what line you choose, it would always be the longest. This really tests a saint's patience. But going back to the topic, I think I am lucky enough to have the grocery just a walking distance from where I live and that it is not crawling with shoppers.

I think it other way. It is a meeting place to say hello to the acquaints and then check their new mobile set , indeed expensive and then see what they ought to purchase , some new arrivals, from China or elsewhere and the see people purchasing anything coming in their way. I like to see people stuffing their respective carts, assuming they have not to pay price for these and lastly thinking myself wise , when my bill is the least and have a laugh at their expensive bills, going through their purchases , most items remain unwanted.

I love grocery shopping, me and my husband shops every saturday and we don't shop in a supermarket or in a grocery mall because thats the place where most the people shops, and if you can go late night were most of the people inside there houses and watching tv or program....thats the great time to shop for me quite and not much people and no one going to hit your van or blocking your ways etc...but depends on which place you are aswell well Good Luck!.

Good luck! I wish I was able to do all of my grocery shopping late at night, because even though there is only one cashier who is bagging for his or herself, there are also only about 5 other people in the store, and they're generally very laid back and cool. :) When I lived in the Midwest, the other good time to go grocery shopping was at about 9 or 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Most everyone was in church at that point, so you could have free run of the store. You had to be careful if you stayed much past 10:30, though, because the church-goers descended like locusts, with lousy personalities to boot.

Man, oh man...it sounds like we have the same kind of shopping trips! The one time I remember the most was when "big tall dude" stole my coupons. Now, this wasn't a few coupons but a big stack of them....in a coupon holder thingy. I didn't see him take them but I did see him and his mom using them. It didn't register with me at the time because really, who steals coupons? I guess I just thought they had the same coupon holder! lol!! When I realized what had happened, I went to tell the management...but I was too late...they were gone. I see them ever once and awhile at some of our local stores...my husband gives them the ole stink eye! lol!!
