Night time snacking....

If you have a snack at night, do you try to eat it before a certain time? Like for me, if I'm gonna have a snack, I try to eat it before 8:30pm. I don't like to eat anything too late cause I feel it just goes right to my thighs and sits there for the next year LOL.

I don't snack a lot and don't eat a lot. but if I do snack, it would be vegetable with dressing, or just raw vegetable. In winter my snack is pasta, only because I'm skinny and I need it to survive in winter.

You're very lucky you can eat whatever you want. I was that way when I was younger, but once you hit your 40's, the body starts changing.

I aim for 7:30 pm if I eat a snack. I have been trying not to eat snacks at night. Sometimes I make it and sometimes I do not.

If I eat late at night I eat somrthing like fruits or popcorn with no butter.

Ever since I saw Oprah with Bob Greene, I try very hard to keep my snacking to a minimum at night and try not to eat anything after 9 PM. They say to stop eating at least two hours before your go to sleep and you can lose weight just from doing that. Unfortunately, my hunger gets the best of me sometimes so I try to keep some low-fat and fat-free snacks around just in case I get a snack attack.

Sometimes I do snack when I felt a little starve but I don't eat heavy it's only biscuit ot milk sometimes quaker oats is fine too.

Hi friend, I eat snacks every time i got it. I have only the rule that not eat anything after brushing at night and before brushing at morning. Instead of that i take it at all.. Every morning after brushing i take some snacks. And also at evening around 4'O clock pm. Then when any friends offer any treat again another... Some type of chips i like too much. Some of them are jackfruit chips, banana chips, coconut chips etc etc... I snack them while watching tv and on other free times... But jackfruit snacks are costly and only get at reasons. The others we get everytime.. When sitting in club some one came with any of this type chips, with in no time the packet make empty. I think every one like this snacks like me..... Thats all dear..... Thank you.....

i try to eat at the latest 2 hrs. before i go to bed. then my stomach feels full and i can't sleep, it's too uncomfortable. alot of people say that u can't eat past a certain time b/c it'll turn to fat and won't burn, but that's not true b/c i hear ur body burns calories even when u're sleeping.

I have discovered the hard way that if I eat after 8:00 pm I become very very nauseated. And I don't function very well when I feel like that. Plus it goes to both my hips and thighs and stays there with me too. LOL

It shouldn't really matter when you snack in the evening....more like what you snack on.It's a comman missconception that when you eat late....you automaticly gain weight. I sometimes have a little snack....like a glas of lowfat milk right before bed and eating some carbs right before bedtime can actually help you sleep better. The only way you will gain weight is....if you eat more calories than your body needs and that extra energy gets stored as fat. So unless you just don't like going to sleep on a full stomach....a snack before bedtime is not going to hurt you. I pretty much have a snack whenever I get hungry and I don't pay much attention to the time.

My internal clock is messed up so I find I'm only really hungry at night. During the day I really don't like to eat, especially right now when it is so hot during the day.

Almost every night I ended up snacking on something. But I don't worry about what time it is. I have two preschool aged kids that keep me busy during the day so I just burn it right off. Speaking of snacking I am getting hungry. So I think I am going to go get my night time snack.

LOL--so that is what happened to my thighs...oh, well, yes, if I don't have a bedtime snack then I might wake up and have to make steak and eggs with toast or something good like that in the middle of the night and then I would have to wash the dishes because I wouldn't want to just leave them in the sink. So it is better to just have the snack from the beginning. My usual snack is a small scoop of vanilla ice cream in a glass with 1/2 milk and 1/2 iced mocha latte with a dollop of whipped cream....mmmm....but usually the latte is made with a caffeine free coffee substitute such as Postum, Cafix, Pero, or Roma.

Well i used to have the habit of eating before sleeping but i left this habit, so i dont eat snacks before sleeping at the night time

Eating anything too close to bedtime is always a bad idea...they say one hour before you lay down is okay...but I still think it should be longer....when you eat your stomach acids are busy breaking down your food....if you lay down during this process you can burn your esophagus, this is one of the causes of acid reflux.

I have to have something small around 9 PM or I am sick by 6 AM the next morning. I have a stomach condition that makes my sick if I get hungry. I almost always have yogurt with a special K cereal sprinkled on top.

I have learned, but keep forgetting, that for me the important thing is to not eat anything high in fat and sugar, or fat plus flour, like pizza. Either combination guarrantees me to have reflux, and be sick all night. Heartburn the next day. I do not get to bed real early, so the time does not seem to matter. In fact, a nurse educator has suggested that one way to have more energy the next morning, and possibly avoid diabetes, is to have a protein snack just before bed. I think it works, it seems to. That would be like a cheese stick, or hardboiled egg, or a spoonful of peanut butter, or a little piece of leftover chicken or steak. I do seem to feel more energized after that.

I am always snacking on something and feeding my nerves. I try not to eat after a certain time also but my schedule is really messed up and sometimes I cannot go to sleep early so I stay up late and work on the computer and while I am doing that, I often snack. I wish I could control it all, but I can't.

If I am going to eat a night time snack, I try to before 8 pm because that way if there is anything in it that might keep me awake, it will be out of my system by bedtime. Maybe.

I think that's the right time, but we don't do it every night. It's not good to eat so much at night.
