Water intake ..it is a great regimen for so many common illnesses . As many as eight glasses of water taken during the day helps digestion and toning up of the body . A glass of water first thing in the morning has a curative effect on the removal of harmful substances from your system . Pure water ..it is plain medicine .

I do agree that drinking plain water is a good habit. I drink about 500ml first thing in the morning. During the day, it is about 1-2 litres depending on whether I have easy access to water.

I agree that drinking water is very healthy. It is hard to say how much is best for which people. We are all a bit spoiled, thinking we need to flavor or sweeten our water, telling ourselves it tastes bad. It is all in what you get used to I think. I will admit that the town I was working in for the last two years the water tasted bad to me.Lots of sulphur. I would bring water from home, or add a sugar free flavoring packet. I like tea, as well, without sugar, only the taste of the tea. Different people of different ages and weights need different amount. Also if you are in a hot dry climate or a hot humid climate. I keep water by my bed so that I can have a refreshing drink in the night.

That is a great idea. The problem is knowing what exactly pure water is and how to get it. I don't know who to trust on this one.

It sure is and I completely agree with you :) Water is my drink of choice in all occasions, correction : water is basically the only think I drink with the exception of occasional fruit juices made by me and delicious milkshakes that I can't resist when the kids ask for one for themselves :) I always drink a glass of water first thing in the morning, not because I was told that it was good for me but because it's always the first thing that I feel like drinking.

I'll take mine with a wedge of lime or lemon, please. Wow, I really do like water and like the other poster, I can tell when I have been slack in drinking it - things just do not run so smoothly. however, if you are in the heat and losing electrolytes plain water is not very good for you, as it serves to flush away even more of the electrolytes that are essential to the cells in your body. Unless you are eating something salty with your water it is better to drink something like gator aide. heat stroke is no joke.

Yeah, so I have heard that too. Water is good for you because your body is 60-70 percent water and it needs to be replaced all the time when you get rid of the fluid somehow from your body. So, drinking water is never a bad thing at all.

I agree with your thoughts on water. We all know water as the liquid form of "Life". No other liquid is so commonly important than water for any animal in this world. Drinking sufficent quantity of water(2 litres or more) daily certainly flushes out many toxic and harmful substances from our body and keeps our circulatory and tissue system very active. Also purity of drinking water is an essential factor to keep away germ contaminations. But 'Drinking water' should not be too pure because too pure water is void of rare and usuful minerals those work as micro-nutrients for us. This must be well taken care of. Thanks.

I love my water. I am trying to lose weight and I have discovered (remembered actually) that if I drink a glass of water every single hour, I feel better and I eat less. I also try to drink 3 glasses of water with every meal. One before I eat, one during the meal and one after the meal. This helps me feel full longer and makes sure that I get the amount of water I need. Also, when I am getting the right amount of water, my joints don't hurt and I am not as tired. I love water. I am working on giving up everything except water. It's hard, but I have done it before and I can do it again. :)

Ah yes, water.... I would sadly fail if this were a test. I never used to drink water AT ALL. I used to complain that it was yucky. Well, now just like someone else has previously mentioned, I am trying to lose weight that I sorely need to lose... So I make myself drink water. Sometimes I will buy those crystal lite packets that flavour the water. Other times I will buy this new type of bottled water by Pepsi (Aquafina). It is lightly flavoured water that has added anti-oxidents and minerals. I still also drink plain water. I still have to MAKE myself drinkas frankly water sucks to drink.... I know that I STILL drink way too much coffee and not nearly enough water but I am trying. At least I am not drinking pop anymore.

I agree with you completely. I like to put a little bit of lemon in that very first glass of the day. It has cleansing and metabolism starting qualities about it. Taking in all the water we need for the day is a healthy habit indeed. One we should all strive to have.

I agree with you. I used to drink glass after glass of water when I was working. My company closed 3 weeks ago so I've been "in between" jobs since then. I haven't drank as much water and I can really tell the difference. I keep meaning to increase my water intake and haven't yet. I think I'll start today. I felt so much healthier when I drank water.

A simple staple in our daily life and we tend to avoid it like the plague. Many people tend to want to drink soda or teas or flavored sugary beverages. I love just plain ice water. It is so good for you and you can't go wrong with it! It has no side effects and can only do you good!

You are absolutely right about this. I drink at least 8 glasses of water each and every day. Sometimes I drink quite a bit more depending upon the activity I am engaged in. When I go without drinking water I tend to drink a lot of diet pop which just ends up making me feel sick. :( cheers,

I am one of the guilty ones that do not drink enough water whatsoever. I do drink a lot of tea (cold), but it's sweet tea cause I live in the south and that's all my hubby will drink. *sighs* I definately will NOT drink tap water. Our water supply smells highly of chlorine and you see things floating in it. Yet, they say all tests show it's within safety limits. Okaaaaay! So, I do buy gallon jugs of spring water from Walmart. I'm trying to drink more water. I need to lose weight, detox, and just be healthier. Willpower is my bane! *grins*
