Well here it is half the year shot in the butt. Now that the peak travel time has arreived once again we are hit hardest at the gas pumps. Today is the highest I've seen the price of gas ever. It's now $3.49 a gallon in spots here in Minnesota. I cannot recall it ever being that high. I have cut down on my traveling due to the cost of gas & it sucks as I used to love going up north for a day or two just to get away from the city. Three years ago I could go there & back and it would cost me $15 maybe. Now it will cost about $40 or more. Oh well guess this also is the resons that milk, cheeses and a lot of other foods have increased drastically as well. Guess I just sit here being bored instead of driving around. HAHAHA!!! Have a great day/evening. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

You must be dreaming. According to the latest government stats, there is very little inflation and prices are barely rising. You need a new pair of special rose- colored government endorsed glasses. They will help you to see that prices are actually falling because you are looking at everything upside down. Go ahead, take a trip to Lake Superior and just send the bill to the government.

Oh yes. Buy those glasses at any Speedway 79 gas station. They retail for ony $1,495 a pair. And you can get a spare pair for only $1,249. Since there is no inflation, don't worry about the prices rising. Use you BUSCH card for any government related purchase. The government will use the money to help fund the coming elections, pay the White House electric bill, enable Congress to enact another pay raise and even help the post office break even. By the way, there is a special on lens tinting for only an extra $495. This will help you to overcome the increase in sunshine as the earth heats up because of global warming. If you want magnifying lens to view the government fine print, that costs and extra $649.

We are traveling less also. Yesterday my husband filled the gas tank and it was higher than my grocery bill and there aren't any coupons to lower the gas bill. I wish there were gasoline rebates in my area more often. Longs offered one a few months ago and $20.00 didn't fill the tank.

I used to leave a couple hopurs early to pick my wife up from her job. I'd go to a park to relax and or meditate. Go out taking photos for new discussions. All sorts of reasons. But as of late I don't do that due to the cost of cruising around now. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It did seem that for a little while, gas prices were coming down. It sure was a nice change! But just recently I see the prices creeping up again. I don't know how much more my pocketbook can take! Maybe we should all start riding bicycles instead of driving. Oh wait....if we did that then I bet the price of bicycles will jump up! I guess we just can't win.

I have been bord also this summer. I have a pool and I do go out and exercise in but I can tell you it boring when you do it alone day in and day out. I do not drive because of my dizzy spells so I stay home except when I have a helper come in two days a week. Tonight I am going to farmers market at 6pm but what do I do to fill up the day. I have folded a load of laundry and have more to fold but can't seem to get moviated. My yard is watered and the veggies are picked so I just am going to sit her on the computer until my butt gets to hurting. LOL

Our gas prices are at an all time high , too. But we pay more than 8 dollars a gallon. That is why we drive smaller and more economic cars. Our milk, butter cheese and also flower and bread has gotten considerably more expensive because of the raise in energy prices. Not much one can do but sacrifice. How about growing potatoes next year, Bob? Anyhow, our government recommends nailing the heels under the front of the shoes, so we still can believe in an upwards trend of the economy and our finances. ;-)

Oh, I hear ya there. I keep check on the price of a barrell of oil. When it goes up, I go fill up because gas is sure to follow. You would think they would find away to bring the prices down. Maybe the govt should pick some folks who've been working in the oil fields for awhile & pair them with a "business man or woman", give them a grant to open more oil refinaries. I mean, they said that's why its so high. Because there aren't enough refinerarys since Katrina. Seems like a simple solotion to me.

My husband is a route driver. He has a van and has to buy the gas himself. It is hitting him hard too. I like to get out and go myself but I have had to cut back quite a bit. I fear its only going to get worse.

Yep and they are now blaming the flooding in Kansas for the rising gas prices- Just doesn’t seem right- Our prices are going up here in NY also- lucky they are still just over $3.00 at $3.05- but still I see them moving- they were just $2.99- and that is still a lot! Sure it makes us travel less- Milk prices are ridiculous! I can’t believe it- It’s almost cheaper to drink POP---

That's outrageous Bob!. I think many of us can relate to this problem. I did a discussion on the rising price of milk just the other day. I just recently moved to this area and I would love to go exploring but I just cant fit that spending into my budget. I remember the good old days when we could take off for somewhere remote and not even think about the cost of fuel.

Gas prices are at $3.45 right now here where I live. They were just at $3.05 a few days ago. It is funny how they can rise so fast in such a short time. We are going on vacation soon, and decided flying has ended up being cheaper than driving. Sorry to hear you have been stuck at home.

It does seem ridiculous that the gas prices are so extremely high...the average working person is having difficulties in affording to drive to work each day.... The times of jumpin into the truck and taking a leisurely dive are going by the wayside.... In Northwestern Arkansas...gas is at $2.98 per gallon right now but it is expected to increase again this week... I truly enjoy driving around and looking at the beauty in the area where we live...but alas, these trips are bcoming rare....I guess, I could saddle up the horses and we could do it the "old way" but travel is much slower...although, just as beautiful....LOL

it is painful and its slowly going out of control...i had very bad time last year also when i was there and we all friends often used to share a car rental for a travel...so that can share the gas price too....

My gas hog of a car sits in front of my house more than it goes. The big oil co. must think we are stupid, they come up with these lame excuses why gas cost so much. We know why, they are greedy, they are ripping us off, and we can't do anything about it. They have us right where they want us.

I just hope everyone remembers to be nice to the gas pumpers, if you still have any around. My boyfriend pumps gas and he is constantly getting complained to about the gas prices. He just tells them its not his fault. Oh wait, I'm not supposed to call them gas pumpers. They are fuel distribution enginneers.lol.

We just came back from a 6 day holiday on Kangaroo Island. Petrol there was $1.50 per litre. It is horrific. People just won't be able rto afford to go on holidays anymore, or even drove to the other side of the city to see relatives. Here in Adelaide, petrol goes up just before a long weekend, when they know a lot of people are going on holidays. Our cheapest day for petrol is Tuesdays, so we have these great long queses wanting to buy. They use petrl prices as the excuse for increased cost of food & vegetables. So where is it going to end? Everything is excalating due to the cost of petrol.

Every thing we buy has gone up bc the oil people think they need billions in profet. They are killing this country. What do they care about us little guys. It just makes me sick. I would love to have that job for just one day. I would never have to work again. The darn creeps. It is hard to post happy talking about them. :(

I think gas is absolutely outrageous right now. We bought it yesterday for, I think, $3.28. I couldn't believe it. The sad part is, it's causing everything else to go up in price.
