Okay I have about 200 photos from this. I went there with my niece and her boyfriend. They drove 200 miles and offered to pay for me to go so I could be the sober cab as they wanted to drink etc. Every Renaissance has lots of booze flowing. Anyhow this is set in the Renaissance era and there are many acts that do a performance on a stage or walking around. The actors are mostly volunteers and are mostly students in some type of acting or writing classes. They earn toips from their performances. This is a photo of me with one of the many fairy's that walk around. they do not talk of course. They just giggle and make little squeaking sounds. This one was soo cute and I ran into her many times throughout the festival. My niece paid for me in every aspect which I truely appreciated also. Ticket, food, gas, etc etc. So it cost me wear and tear on my car was all. I have a few discussions I will be doing about the Renaissance festival over the next few days I think as there was sooo much and I have so many photos as well. Thanks for taking the time to read this as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Only 200 photos?? Gee, GRANDPA BOB you're slipping...HAH..just kidding..That's a great opportunity for those students to ham it up and have fun being dressed in those period costumes...Looks like the event was blessed with good weather too. Yes I can imagine the booze overflowing...all in the spirit (no pun intended) of things after all those Medieval/Renaissance days were rather bawdy...LOL

Thankfully anyhow. Here's another shot from there. Thanks for the responses also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I can only imagine the discomfort of wearing the full leather gear all day when it's 90 plus and the humidity is high. Ugghhh!!

That is fantastic that your daughter did that for you. That is a long drive, so I am sure the festival was well worth the travel. I like the street characters that walk around and entertain. they are either dressed very nicely or they are very funny. My daughter met Queen Elizabeth at the last one and got a ring from her. It was so cute!

Balance Act - 5 glasses balanced on his head. But they were all one large ice chunk. HAHAHA!
It was my niece. My daughter doesn't have that kind of money. HAHAHA!!! Cool deal. I got to get up to the King & Queens area during the jousting festivities for better pictures. But was too busy to chat with them as were they as well. Here's another photo. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Your niece was so nice to pay for everything. Its so much fun to share the day and somebody else pay the bill. I paid for the last Renaissance Fair; however, it certainly was worth the cost.

I was in a Ren Fair once as a serving wench. I tried top find the pic, but seem to have misplaced it. It was a very long time ago. I had loads of fun though. I remember we were only allowed to talk in accents and had to remain in character the entire time. I am glad you had a good time. The fairy is just too cute. If I ever find the pic, I'll upload it for you to see...lol.

You are going to have lots of memories to treasure, too bad your wife could not go along as well. The fairy is an adorable girl. I am glad you could go be the designated driver.
