Does Stress Affect Everything Around You?

When you get stressed...over big or small things...does it seem to affect everything around you. It does with me. When I'm stressed or worried I have nightmares, headaches, trouble focusing on things, depressed and am generally a pain in the butt. Most of the time the things work themselves out and the day moves on. Sometimes I find I have to remove myself from the problem, the person causing the problem or the enviroment. After awhile, when the stress goes down, I can sometimes deal with the person or enviroment again. Alot of ppl say to not let things get to you, don't worry about it, let it go...I'm not made that way. If something stresses me...it stays that way for a long time. AT PEACE WITHIN ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I try not to let stress get to me nowadays but when it does, it affects me and my family. If I am not happy then the household is not happy, so I try not to let myself get into that situation. If I do then I remove myself from home and go off and try to exercise it away, or deal with it as much as I can before it starts to affect my family as a whole. I have tried not to let the small things get to me nowadays and just brush it away. It's funny how much better you feel when you do though!

There's a saying here in the South: "If mama's not happy, nobody's happy". So taking care of yourself is a number one priority if you've got children and a spouse. I think women generally tend to think the opposite way, like they have to try and make everyone else happy first.

It took me a while to learn that and only after I hurt my lower back last year, I make sure that all is well with me first as my hubby and son know that if I am not good, then things around the home aren't either. I still put my son first though but I make sure that I am in good health and less stressed about the little things.

If I am stressful, it gets bottled inside me, I start to shake, and if nothing relieves it, I get ill. I go to bed and do not want to get up, or else I go downstairs and scream my head off. I got an attack of shingles through stress, I was so upset that I was in pain for over two weeks. The only way I can do, besides writing, is to leave the house and go for a long walk or eat some chocolates, but then I replace the stress with another problem.

Bummer. Try taking a walk to a wooded area or nature Center to sit and quietly watch mother natures works. One can't let stress eat at their insides. As you know it can make one very ill keeping it bottled inside. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

You sound like me. I'm a pain in the butt when I get stressed too. I don't want to be bothered either when I'm stressed. I'm not one of those people that can just let things go so easy. My grandmother always says, "If it's not going to bother you six months from now then don't let it bother you now." I try to look at it that way but sometimes it just doesn't work right then for me. LOL

I can relate to the part about not wanting to be bothered when I'm stressed. And that's always the time when the phone rings a gazillion times and somebody wants or needs something, or there's something really pressing I must get done. And the people who are calling me on the phone don't understand why I'm not answering. And then I open my email program and there's 25 new emails sitting there. I swear, I'm close to getting rid of some of these forms of communication. Everything is not an emergency. Having two phones and about five email addresses is just too much.

If I'm stressed I don't function well, mentally, physically or spiritually. It's why I live as a recluse. How many times have I looked to someone for comfort, or turned to find support only to find closed doors and a lack of interest or concern? Of course, these findings only make things worse and the stress quickly turns to depression then you have to find a way out. Unlike you my symptoms don't manifest as illness...no headaches or nightmares, just confusion and I tend to lose some equilibrium and trip or fall. I'm pretty lucky in that after a short time something will occur to bring things back to normal. One of my animals will do something cute, or I will notice a flower blooming, or I will finish a job I've been procrastinating over. I have to be the one to help me. Cos no one else will....lol.

wow.., I think stress would definitely affect a person, whether it was a big or small stress, but what should be underlined here is how you manage those feeling.

Stress has always been a problem to me. whenever I'm at school, my eyes are almost about to close. But at least I don't sleep, hehe This stress thing I have, makes my life a disaster. I always have eyebags for sleeping late at night, headaches, and even my body is aching. Even if I'm trying to remove my late at night sleeping habit, I still have stress....

I think when you get stressed and then you become depressed you don't really think properly, this is where they say depression can me helped in most cases as a little medication perhaps can put the thinking part of your brain back on the right track....but a little bit of depression is a part of life I think especiall in the unthinking world of today...

I suffer from anxiety disorder, so I understand the stress thing. The important thing to remember about all circumstances is that they are all temporary, nothing lasts. That goes for both the good and the bad. If you have to remove yourself from a situation for a while, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you're not avoiding something that's really important. We make our own reality by our perceptions.

i do get stress also very easily for small things and big as well. i get headaches and takes a very long time to get the pain away (without taking pills). yea reading to what you said, i do attend to thing about the pass and things i supposed to let go. i know i cant change the pass or go back anymore but i just think about it a lot. like the girl i liked, i would always imagine what i couldve done to make her like me when i was still in high school. and now, i dont go to work anymore with my dad because i started going to school so i started finding ways how to make money. i feel like if i get a job someplace, i will have to miss a lot of my classes. especially now since i wanna save up for my parents anniversary next year, but theres nothing to save. i dont know how to make money. but yea, i also get headaches easily when im stressed.

twoey stress is something that can affect your entire body.It can make your mind play tricks on you and it can also make you sick.It brings up the heart rate, causes muscle pain and all kinds of things including body aches and pain...People will tell you to try not and let these things bother you,but that is part of your personality and you cannot help it...You are the type of person that when you get stressed out it takes you time to regain your composure..this is perfectly normal...Don't be hard on yourself...

I try not to sweat the small stuff anymore. It just isn't worth the extra stress for something that isn't really important. There is always going to be big things crop up and like you I can be a real pain in the butt when I get stressed out. I too get headaches and depressed when things get a little overwhelming but eventually most things work out and stress levels go down. A week later it doesn't seem like a big deal anymore. Time cures a lot of stress :D

That is one of the biggest advantages that I have found living alone affords me, twoey. When you live alone there is nobody to get on your nerves or stress you out. It has done wonders for my blood pressure, LOL. Now the only person that can get on my nerves is ME.

Stress can affect every aspect of your life if you let it. Stress can sneak up on you without you even being aware that it is there. The last place I worked was a very stressful job with very little room for error or excuses. It wasn't until I had to quit working that I was even aware of the amount of stress that I had been under. Even though it is several years later I still have dreams about the place. I try to keep from letting things bother me so much, and therefore tend to gloss over things that many people take way too seriously. My attitude is that you only live once, and there is no point in worrying too much about anything. They say don't sweat the small stuff....even things that seem insurmountable today, several years down the road is going to be considered small stuff. Just don't dwell on minor issues...do what needs to be done, take care of business and move on with your life.

I have illnesses that are very affected by stress. I am the same way though I can't just let things go; I have to try to solve the problem. Problem is that my life seems like one stressor after another.

I don't let stress get to me because, I know it won't do me any good. Stess will make me look ugly and old, that's what I always put in my mind. It will just give me wrinkles, and i'm too young to have wrinkles. And having wrinkles is too expensive to have a botox. Not that I want to have that kind of procedure. Anyway don't think about stress, enjoy life and stay beautiful or handsome :).
