As I sit here with my daisy I am peeling off the petals one by one. I love myLot. I hate myLot. I love myLot. I hate myLot. On and on. I decided about 24 hours ago I needed a break due to boredom/burnout. Then I found myself still checking out the site. I couldn't get away. I didn't do any responding etc but I still had to visit. HAHAHA! SO I guess I am feeling a lot better today and have started the day off in a better mood. MY lower back and this damn degenrative Disc Disease is killing me today but other than that I am here to respond etc. Thanks for all the responses on my other discussion about needing a break. I will get to commenting there soon enough today. I did my routine exercises for the pain and to stretch the back a bit.I also tTook some ibuprofin for the pain in my back and am sitting as straight as I can at my desk and typing away now. Thanks again all. So tell me I am not the only one that's said I neededf a break and it only lasted 24 hours. HAH!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hello ! you are very much near to my feelings for myLot...it is hateful at times and lovable for most of the time. The painstaking effort being put on this forum is definitely not rewarded properly...yet the sharing of feelings, common fears, joys, sorrows are all contributing factors that make you and me stick on to our favorite forum of mutual expression. Good luck LOL.

I think you are my fastest boomerang friend. I have had several that have left and then come back. I do not announce when I am taking a break usually, I just do it because I must. I do want to ask what kind of chair you are sitting in? I find that my sciatica acts up if I sit in the cheap computer chairs I have for too long. That is the one thing that has improved with me being back to work at my full time job as well as my part time. I am not sitting in the stupid chairs. As far as sometimes just reading, it happens to me a lot. If I am too tired, I will not spend my energy answering, as I am afraid I will not make much sense. I read probably four times as many discussions as I answer. Hope your back gets all stretched out. Have you ever tried an electic mattress pad? I cannot use it in the summer, but for most of the rest of the year I do. We have dual controls, and the heat really soothes the sore body. See ya around the lot GB!

The electric mattress pad is much better, in my opinion than an electric blanket. It goes under your bottom sheet, so you lay on it, rather than have it over you. I bought our first ones at Penney's online. I bought a spare for a twin bed here at Wal Mart on clearance last spring. I bet you could find it in an online Wal Mart store. We got ours because a nurse who was a friend of ours said she does it for her arthritis.

I use just the basic rolling reclining desk chair. This wans't a cheap one. I can't sit in those for 5 minutes at all. I can sit here for an hour at least. I need a lumbar pillow really and I think that will help a lot actually. I probably read 6 and respond to one if I am lucky that is. HAHAHA!! A heating pad? I've never heard of electric matress pads. Are they like a blanket or what? Seems like it's an electric blanket you're describing actually. I have thought about it but the wife isn't happy with the idea. But I think I'll buy one anyhow. She can turn her side to off. HAHAHA!! Thanks for the response also. Greatly appreciated. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I need a break every day from mylot- I’m less active each day- I try to find the time- but I just don’t- I’m hoping to post a lot this weekend- and hit the payout- Yes there are times when I say I’m done- but then I am right back the next day or a couple days later.

The weekends are usually the slow days for me. Mainly due to the fact those are the only days I get to see my wife for more than a quick meal and kiss goodbye. But I do get on here every weekend. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm glad to see you back on. I love reading your discussions so I was sad when you said you were going to leave for a little while. I know what you mean about needing a break though. I also feel that way sometimes but then I'm back on here again. I can't get away. LOL Hope your back feels better. My husband's grandmother has that fibromyalgia and that degenerative disc thing in her back so I see how it hurts her sometimes so I know it must hurt you too.

Well this makes me feel so well liked. I have heard many say they'd miss me' But being the type I am I can't figure out why. But thanks anyhow. The back does hurt. I need to go do some stretching and lie down soon as it's starting to flare up again as I sit in this stiff chair. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My back is bothering me today, so can understand that pain. It hurts to sit down and stand up. I must have moved to many buckets of water yesterday. Hope you have a good day.

yeah moving as much water as you do seems to have an effect on ones back. Glad it wasn't me as it would have been 3 or so buckets and that's it. It's getting uncomfortable sitting here as well. I have to get up and stretch every 15 minutes or so. I think I will be logging off & stretching with some much nedded lower back exercises. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Glad you're feeling better Grandpa Bob. It's not nice to be in pain/unwell. I can sympathise with you. I've been more and more aware of my own aches and pains lately and plan a visit to our local bore bath. There are lots of minerals in the water and it is a constant 86 degrees or thereabouts (I think) as it comes out of the ground. I will hopefully soak for a while. It's a bit hard and painful getting in and getting out is much harder but I'm hoping for the best.

I hope your back feels better soon. I find that I need to get away once in a while myself. There is so many discussions that are repeated, not much worth responding to, and if you do, someone jumps down your throat because you may have offended them in some way. This last week away has done me a world of good. I still come and respond, but only 3 or 4 instead of 10-20. I find my friends who respect my opinions and respond to those discussions first. It will slow down the paycheck, but hey, sanity is more important, I think. Take care Grandpa Bob!

As you have seen by my responses I am alwyas pleasant and don't write things than can be misconstrued as invasive or hurtful. If those feelings arise as I read a discussion I avoid answering it to avoid that type of activity. I don't like losing points and or ratings. Hee hee. I am too nice at times too I feel. But maybe that's why I'm so loved here maybe? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

No you are not the only one that has needed a break. I had to take one before. I am not on a break now, but I don't get to be here very often. I joined 2 other sites and a lot of my friends from here are there as well. ( starts with a 'Y' but I think that word os banned from here!) I do come back here to keep up with the ones that have not joined the other sites. I am SO busy with Life and Girl Scouts and work that I just don't have time to devote to any one site. I hope your back is feeling better now. I know those exercises can cause as much pain as they can help!

I have heard tales about that other site not paying as well as here though. I never had any interest either way to join as I am a mylot addict and will be here for awhile it seems. it's the friends etc not tha cash. I have lost a few friends to the other site also and miss them dearly. But I am not joining that bandwagon. I joined this one and this is my "home" so to speak I guess. Shhh don't say "pain". I think you are only patially addicted to My Lot. Many people here are completely addicted.I'm not sure which catergory I fit into? My hubby has back pain too. I am fairly sure he has taken ibuprofin too. He was thinking of trying pilates for his back pain, as they say it is very good.

I consider myself on a break now. I haven't posted a topic in over a week and I only respond to maybe 6 discussions a day. And that is pushing it. I used to do between 10-20 replies a day and start a topic at least 2 times a week. I still go through my email notifications, if there is something good from a friend, I reply. If not, I don't even log on. So no, you aren't the only one that lasts only 24 hours. It just depends on what your idea of a "break" is. I hope your back feels better soon. I know that is wicked pain. :)

I am used to responding to maybe 30 to 50 discussions a day and starting at least one a day sometimes 5 or more. So the last few days have been slow as hell at my end. Not really burnout I feel. Just stress of daily life and pain I would say. Things are looking better and I am feeling a it better as well. A break is just a break. How ever long it may last I feel. HAHAHA. Thanks for your time as well friend. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I can relate to your back pain, I have scoliosis and some days sitting in one position for any length of time is pretty painful. I hope you are coming back to par. Quite honestly, there is nothing wrong with taking a break. Perhaps you should do it more often, maybe you wouldn't feel so frustrated when you don't get a lot of responses. Now that the school year has begun, maybe you'll see more activity?

I keep telling my wife I want a laptop with wireless so I can do mylot while I wait at her work for her to get off. I have to pick her up every night as she doesn't drive. That's it. When she asks me what I want for Christmas I'll tell her a laptop and just a laptop. Last year she bought me my $200 Police scanner I asked for. So maybe a few hundred more dollars won't be so bad to ask for? HAHAHA! Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
