Sleep now or later

Many people know I don't sleep many hours each night. Tonight one of my favorite shows, Monk the main character couldn't sleep and was trying to solve a crime. He was priceless buffing the eggs until they were shiny. He did manage to solve the crime and sleep, but was awake most of the episode driving the people around him crazy, as they wanted to sleep.
I was able to laugh about his problem, but it can be a serious problem. Many people don't get enough sleep and drive and go to work. We hear of to many people sleeping while driving and its dangerous. I know there are days that I could get more work completed, if I had slept more hours. I have tried reading, lifting weights, warm milk, turning off the lights, but none of them have helped me sleep more hours.
I'm always willing to try other ideas. I have been sleeping 4 to 5 hours for the last 20 years. I'm fully rested most of the week, but really feel tired on weekends. I'm not sure exactly why, but think its because my husband stays up late on weekends.

I love Monk.
I, too, have trouble sleeping. What's funny is that the captain suggested drinking and actually drinking completely makes me tired! But that's not what I'm going to do to solve my lack of sleep problem! I don't do warm milk cause the thought of that is gross! the only thing that really I can ever do is to turn on a movie that I've seen about a thousand times and watch that...usually that'll put me to sleep because I won't stay up waiting to see what happens or anything.
Getting to sleep isn't usually my problem though, it's staying asleep!

I laughed reading watch a movie that you have already viewed and sometimes will fall asleep that way. Lately, its watch a really bad television show and I'm asleep in my chair for a nap. Thanks for making me laugh.

Monk has been one of my favorite tv shows since it began and I loved this particular one. I'm very lucky because I never have this problem. I really felt bad for Monk.

I felt terrible for Monk and know the actor has some of the phobias/issues we see on the show. It makes me realize having only 1 "bad" one means my life isn't that hard. He really helps other people see and understand there isn't anything wrong with being different. Monk is one of my favorite shows and I learn a lot on the web site.

Hi there.. I am sorry but I don't know anything about that show, Monk. But what I do know is that there are times that I sleep late and continue sleeping late for the rest of the week even though I need to wake up early so that I won't be late for class. I tried to change my habit by sleeping early but I find it quite difficult. I suggest that you try to lie on your bed, try closing your eyes and sleep.. If that doesn't work, try to lie on your bed again and pray the rosary. It worked for me for several times already. I can easily fall asleep from that. But don't get me wrong, we pray the rosary together with my family after dinner and I just try to pray the rosary again to make me fall asleep. It does work (for me) :) I hope you try it though and see if it works for you too. Best of luck!

I think we all have our own sleep patterns in life, and it is not something we can change. We just deal with it. I feel there is always a reason for it, I myself haveodd sleep patterns.
