Costly Taveling Now

Well after driving over 300 miles the other day the cost to do this wasn't all that bad. Now the gas here in Minnesota is up to $3.11 a gallon. I have paid as high as $3.15 earlier this year. Now with the cost of a barrel of crude oil nearing $100 I wonder how long before we see gas at $4 a gallon. What's the price of gas now in your area? What's the most you've paid per gallon? Will the rising costs cause you to stop driving so much for little trips etc? It won't affect me as I really don't drive all that much. I drive to get my wife at work 6 days a week and that's a total of around 180 miles. Then I go to my A.A. club so I put a little over 250 miles a week which is less than a full tank so it's not hurting me as of yet. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Ahem!!!!! Grandpa Bob, YOU are NOT too OLD to ride a bike 5 measly miles. I know folks who are in their 70's riding their bikes over 20 miles a day so don't give me that excuse. 2 have asthma as well and all that exercise has actually improved their asthma to the point they no longer need the nebulizer and rarely use their inhalers. So :-P~~ Git your butt out there and ride that bike. lol

Hello! Having a car here in Bahrain is cheap and doesn't cost you a lot. The oil price here is very low and no taxes to pay. Plus the fact that bahrain is a small country/island so the distance you travel is not an issue. My hubby would sometimes joke that the water here is more expensive than the petrol..*wehehe* Due to cheap petrol and no taxes everybody owns and drives a car here. Ohh..it would be great if all country is rich in oil. lol...take care.*smile* ciao! c",0

Today, in the company car at the station with our contract, gas was $2.96 per gallon. The prices have already slowed me down as to how much I drive for recreational purposes. I might even consider changing my primary job, because I drive about 13 miles one way to work.

Yeah I used to drive to just get away every week but that's slowed down to maybe once a week if I am lucky. The gas did drop today a dime though. So that's a start. It'll be back up over $3 a gallon when I fill up Saturday or Sunday I bet. HAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Our fuel is also very expensive. It varies from day to day, or even from hour to hour. Lately it could be as cheap as $1.19 per litre, or up to $1.35 per litre. There have been times this year when it got to $1.50 per litre. It makes any kind of longish trip unafforable. As I drive my daughter to school every day (a one hour round trip), I in peak hour traffic, I spend at least $40 to $50 on fuel each week. Another one of the reasons we are broke.

Yeah way too exspensive for a trip for us as well. I want to drive to Michigan (800 miles) to see family and friends but will have to wait. We may fly. We shall see in the future. HAHAHA! Not soon though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My daughter takes the bus to reduce gas expenses. Gas is at $3.25 a gallon, but has been higher here. We are traveling less.

As you know I'm in Canada and we're paying 5.38 a gallon. That to me is ridiculous it's a natural resource in our country and we're paying this, Why??? I filled my tank yesterday and it came to 69.51. Brutel!!!

I'm paying $1.46 a litre but I live in the bush. It's probably around 20 cents cheaper in a bigger town. I don't go anywhere much as there's nowhere to go...lol. Other than shopping, the closest shopp is about 60klms away..I go once a week or every 10 days but I do some errands for a friend sometimes so he shouts me some fuel. Last time I went with a friend in her truck...I shouted us lunch. My Dad lives in a bigger town about 300 klms away so I go to see him every 3 months and have an overnight stay so I can do other errands I can't do from home. That's the general idea anyway.

My route is 52 miles round trip during the week and 70 on Sundays not to mention the misc. trips I have to make for shopping and such. Most I've ever paid for gas is $3.35. It's $3.15 in town here but just over the state line in IN I paid $2.92 yesterday. I don't see why they can't pass some kind of law forcing the gas stations to all charge one price for reg. when it pretty much all comes from the same place. They have stupid laws for everything else, why not for gas as well.

That is why the war occurs in Iraq, :) Seriously, I believe there are new energy under development recent year, wind energy, solar energy, fuel cells, bio energy. All this may come to our life in the near future, let say, 10 years later. Further more, public traffic is also another solution to this problem. But this may be not that in US than in Europe.

My wife rides a bus to work and I pick her up at night as the busses don't run that late at night by our house. I would love to see more sources for energy use implemented as standard. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

During a normal week I drive very little. Maybe tops fifty miles. I do however drive alot in the summer doing shows..I guess I don't really think too much about the price. There are so many other things that cost money that I think are outrageous that gas prices don't affect me.

I'm 20 now but when I was a younger kid i remember gas use to be .75 to .80 cents a gallon. All it took was 10 bucks to fill my moms car from the bottom of the E all the way past the F. Even back then people complained gas was too high. I bet now they are biting their toungues. Times have changed but we better be appreciative now that gas is 3.00 plus instead of 10.00 a gallon in the future that is if we still use gasoline. to answer your question in Colorado it's 2.95 a gallon :)

I recall the gas wars where it was under a quarter a gallon and you stayed in a long line waiting to fill up. And many a car would run out of gas waiting in the lines also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
