Many of you know I am a military mom. My son is my hero. He has been serving in the Army for seven years. His unit has been in Iraq on their second tour of duty. I had talked to my son this morning on the yahoo messenger about 2:30 a.m. He was bored and just waiting. His unit is packed and waiting to come home. 2:00 p.m. (12 hours later) I just got the phone call from Ft. Hood. Officer Martinez said my son's unit will be here on December 24th and a ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. My son's unit is in motion. They are coming home. Yeah!!!! I am so thrilled. Please leave your welcome home notes here for him.

Oh I thought he would be home for Christmas. Still a good thing that he's coming home. Give him a huge hug from all of us, if it wasn't for people like your son and my husband, we wouldn't be celebrating Christmas.

I wish I could be there to take pictures when the unit comes in but I can't. I will be taking a ton of pictures when my son gets here to my house. He should be here on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Yes, this is a wonderful gift from God.

Yes, we are very proud of him. He came home. We had a small welcome home party for him. It was nice. He is now working and settling back into civilian life.

My little brother is in the Army as well. Last Christmas he was in Afghanistan and this year he is in Iraq. I am truly happy for you and your family! My brother still has 17 more months to go before he gets his welcome home ceremony! :)

Start saving up your money and if you can, go to the welcome home ceremonies. I was able to go to one of his ceremonies a few years ago. I cried through it all. It is a very moving ceremony. I wish I could be there this time but circumstances are holding me away. Let us know when your brother returns home.

Oh my gosh....I am SO excited for you. I am a military wife...unfortunately my husband will not be coming home until next may, but I am so excited that your son is in route to get back home. I know you are getting antsy to get him home. Tell your son that I appreciate his service and I'm very proud of him and his unit. That is just so awesome,I can't tell you the emotions I have for you right now. It's always so wonderful to hear that someone is coming home from being in Iraq. My husband is on his second tour there right now to. It's been crazy from what I hear. Congratulations and again tell him Welcome home for me and God bless him for his services for our country and God bless you as well. I know you are just about to explode with joy. Keep us posted. God bless you and our troops!

Welcome home!! Thank you so very much for all your brave and hard work. I really don't agree with the war but I am so grateful for all you men and women are doing for our country and all of mankind. I am sure there is much that I don't understand about this war and because of that, I try to remain open-minded. What I do know is that you and all your colleagues are fighting and risking your lives for us. Thank you so much. Happy holidays to you and your family!
