Casserole question

I have a sound like stupid question but since I still don't have the casserole I think I must ask you all out there. I am thinking of making a casserole meal or dish for me and my spouse, but since I don't have the casserole yet I wonder if I can use the baking pan for this kind of dish. Please tell me if the answer is no because the taste will be different from the original dish, then I guess I must buy one for me.

Typically when I make a casserole type meal I use a glass baking container. I would think if you used metal, there would be no difference in the taste.

I just want to know if my dish will burn more when using the pan because it is thinner than the glass. I am worry that the soup or water will dry faster and burn the dish.

It will probably cook quicker. I would cut off 10 minutes off the cooking time and maybe lower the heat if you are using a dark pan.

The taste of the food has nothing to do with th epot you cook it in...yes you can use a baking dish, if it a deep one.Casseroles are usually layers of ingredients and are meant for deeper dishes, but a baking dish will work without affecting the taste... by the way, my familyused to own a diner, if you ever need a recipe,or tips on cooking, you can message me anytime, I will be glad to help...smiles ♥ Heidi

Hey Heidi, thanks for the information. I think I have the deep baking pan, so I can use it later. I will message you if I have anything to ask. Thank you.
