They say when you get in your 40's you should get one, I had one 8 years ago, I haven't had one lately, but I need to get one. Have you had one lately? Well eight yrs, ago I had one and the test came back showing I had some kind of Mass, it scared me to Death, I thought I had Cancer, but thank God It didn't they did a Biopsy and It turned out to be nothing, so I am telling all you ladies here be sure to get one it could save your life. I have made a appointment to get another one done, and it is free.

Yes, I've had a mammogram done a few years ago, I am due to have one done this year, so will making an appointment to do so in the next few months. I am also a few years behind in getting my annual pap done, so I will need to make an appointment for that as well.

Thats something on my to do list. I don't have any kind of medical insurance so I can't get it done. I am so happy that you can get it done for free. Good luck on the outcome.

I haven't been able to afford one for the past couple of years. Up until that time I had insurance, and they gave me one every 6 months because of my previous cancer episode. If I may ask, where did you get yours for free? I have yet to find someplace in NE Ohio that will do this without wanting an arm and a leg for it. I'm glad you're getting it done regularly, early detection is the key in fighting against cancer!

Hi Marcie. i am 36 and have never had a mammogram done. I don't have insurance right now and I am afraid to go get another big bill to pay. I am trying really hard to get some bills paid off so we can poay out of pocket for some health insurance for us. I know how inportant it is for us to have those things done. Where do you go to get a free one done? Keep in mind, I am in Indiana.

Do you know they have grants, for this you should check it out at a Neighborhood Clinic. or go online and ask where in your community can you et this information. a lot of people don't know but they have grants for this kind of thing.

I have never heard of a grant for these types of things. Is this something we have to pay back? I can't take on any more bills right now is why I ask. Thanks, Steph

No Steph, I would ask someone, maybe at a hospital or a Clinic. You don't have to pay back grants.

I asked my doctor about it and she said they don't start until I turn 50. I have no family history of cancer so I'm considered to be in a low-risk group. I do monthly self-checks though.

That is very good, everyone should know how to give a self-exam.

I have had a mammogram (boob sandwich) every year without fail since I was 40 years old. The is one test I will not let slip by as it is really important to have an early diagnosis if cancer is present.

I just turned 40 a few months ago and have never had one done to date. In the UK the hospital or surgery usually send out letters to women requested them to attend an appointment and as yet, I've not had one. My surgery is pretty useless generally so I guess I had better give them a push to organise one, thanks for the reminder here! x

I can't even remember when I last had one. I guess I blocked it out...can you blame me? We have a lot of cancer in our family so I should have one but I haven't. With no insurance and the high cost of the test, it just isn't happening. If a problem pops up, then I'll look into it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
