Above PCs seems to be from of developing technologies and mine is in between. With a Pentium Pentium Dual Core 'Intel Pentium D 930 with 3.0 GHz of processing speed and gives approx. 2999.0 core speed supported by 512 MB DD-SDRAM having frequency of 160.0 MHz and all this on AS-Rock Motherboard with Intel chipset. Having four cooling fans in it. System also have Optical Disc Drive DVD R/W with FDD and seven USB ports and a LAN card. As Windows XPP Service Pack 2 I have a good experience. But I also have Ubuntu Linux on Another HDD Partition which is faster then XP. But my major OS is XP for now. Wish to have a MAC. I use Firefox 3 Beta 2 as my major Web browser. But I have all other major web browsers installed run on 64-256 kbps LAN Broadband connection. 2 mbps+ connections are much costly here. I know above stuff is more then the needed! hehe.. Comments appreciated.

yeah lot of people are choosing AMD these days.... the model i have problem with the CPU fan, if we do some CPU intensive jobs like rendering a 3d movie or playing 3d games the fan produces lot of noice and is very irritating. The processor emits lot of heat too...

I'm still using dial up but am thinking about making a change to dsl. Just haven't taken the time to do it. I have a new Dell with Windows xp. Am using aol 9.0 and am very content. I have no experience whatsoever with Firefox. Browser is IE 7.0. I have no idea what the RAM is on this computer. Have only had it 4 days and haven't bothered to check it out. My computer is a desktop pc.

well... most websites run a touch faster with firefox. You can easily find out the ram installed in your computer by looking at mycomputer Properties, if the ram is shared for display it my show a bit less.

712 mb RAM on your daughters computer looks a bit odd to me... either it has to be 512 + 256= 768 or 512+512 = 1024 Computers work better when we have same amount of RAMs installed in the slots so that they can share the workload.

Acer Aspire 7720 17" Crystal brite LCD notebook 1.66 GHz Core 2 Duo 160 GB HDD 2 GB DDR 2 VISTA OS Firefox Browser and IE (I prefer firefox) This thing has a keyboard or cursor problem. Cursor jumps all over the place. VERY annoying. Hard to get ahold of tech support. My last Acer laptop was a DREAM. I'm so mad about this. I hate to return a pc that I already have stuff on. Didn't notice the keyboard bs. til a few days ago typing in email.

OK duh, tech support e-mailed me the directions on how to resolve that issue. WHEEW This acer is awesome now! I'm digging the speed. it's much faster than my old one. I wish I could figure out how to fix my old laptop for my hubby or kids. it's a aspire 3015 or something like that. I have it packed away. Anyway, great discussion. I like learning what others are operating. My first machine that I owned was back in 1999 and it was an e-machine. I thought that was fast, I think it had a 4 gig hard drive and I thought that was da bomb. My school pc 2 yrs prior was only a pentium 90 LOL

Computer - Intel P4 (R) 3.06 Ghz, 512 MB RAM OS - MIcorsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002, SP2 Browser - Basically I use all this three, each for specific purpose according to the securtiy it provides: 1. Internet Explorer 6.0 (very less, in few cases where others doesn't work) 2. Opera (for all good websites!) 3. FIrefox (for all the places which require strict security...I have too many add-ons as security on that browser!) My Internet connection is not fast....its just 256 KBps...Fortunately, I am going to have a new broadband 2MBps connection this week or next week! A timed question!

My newer system is a Pentium with Core2Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 17" LCD monitor and also running on Windows XP. I use Mozilla Firefox as my internet browser on both machines. My internet connection is broadband on 3Mbps speed, and this connection is shared between both my PCs.

Mine is a Tiger Mac with awesome capabilities. It has 1.9 GHz power and 1.5 GB. It also takes my pictures automatically when I want and looks very stylish in a slimline case. Safari is my wonderfully efficient browser but I use Firefox when I have to. I love Mac computers because they are so easy to run and have used them for the past 16 years. Wouldn't use anything else as they are so reliable and fun.
