some people have to have their certain side of the bed, and will almost fight if they don't get it.
For me I didn't like sleeping at other people's houses, because I was very particular about my pillows, I need big but firm pillows to sleep well, many friends, had small soft pillows and I just hated them but that was all they had.

Hi Rose. I didn't have much problem sleeping at a friend's house before. But about 5 years, I started to turn down anyone's offer to have a sleepover in their house.
I'm not sure what causes it. Maybe because I find my bedroom, particularly my bed, my only solace. Like its my only Sanctuary where I can be alone. However, I am not particulate in which side of the bed I should sleep. I can sleep anywhere for as long as I have my orthopedic pillow with me. I love this pillow as it helps to support my neck while sleeping. :)

i am picky about what side of the bed i sleep on I lay on my left side and need to be proped up a certain way for my acid reflux.so if we go to a hotel or a friends to spend the night I always take my own pillows, most hotel pillows are to flat and I never know what the pillows will be like at a friends, this way i know im safe with my own.

I will sleep even on a plank...my need for rest is not dependant of the logistics :)
I will sleep wherever you put me, the condition is to be tired.
I remember some time i fell asleep in the club, where there was so much noise, but I got used to it and it didn't bother me anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a sleepy person, but when I'm tired I can sleep anywhere.

Yes, I am particular about my sleep.
If one side of the bed was placed next to the wall, I'd prefer the outer side. If the bed happened to be in the middle of the room with both sides free, I would position myself to sleep facing away from the bed.
As for pillows, I like those that aren't too low and aren't too high. Lately, I've been finding it hard to doze off to sleep without a blanket. Whoa! I didn't realize I was that particular about sleep... hehe

I am a very poor sleeper. Quite often I will not be able to sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. I watch TV drink mint or camomile tea or go on the internet. I hate to stay with friends because usually I am awake all night at least the first night. I always take a book along but I can't walk around for fear I will disturb other people. I am o.k. in a hotel because I can add a pillow or blanket or take one off and I can turn the TV on on low volume.

I am. I have to be on the inside no matter what. I hate to sleep close to a door is what I am getting at. I have to have fresh bed covers also to be able to go to sleep. I cannot stand them if they have a stale smell to them. I like to cozy up in my pillow and it has to smell fresh.

I have my side of the bed. I have to sleep in my spot or I don't sleep well. I use one firm pillow folded in half, sleeping on my side with my left knee pulled up to my chest and half on my belly. Sounds a bit confusing but it's very comfortable for me. I have slept like this for over 11 years now when I was first pregnant with my oldest daughter. I cannot sleep at anyone else's house, because I cannot get comfortable and wake several times during the night. I have fallen asleep at a friend's house here and there but wake within the hour because I know it's not my home.

I wasn't that particular before, so i did sleep often at friends' house, but now i can't sleep anywhere without MY pillow! I even brought it on our honeymoon!! LOL and since my pregnancy, i need an extra pillow, that i put in between my knees when i lie down on my side, so it balances my spine.

The type of pillow I need or want varies from time to time. When we go to my brother's house or on vacation, we take our own pillows. As I have gotten older I think about who else has been on those pillows, in a motel or the little ones on airplanes. I am not obsessive about it, but a little cautionary.

I am particular about having my own pillow - and also not sharing my pillow with others... it is a personal thing to me. I am much more comfortable sleeping while sitting up - so correct side of bed is not much an issue anymore - but I do have my special spot on the couch - lol

I don't have a problem sleeping at other people's homes. I hate hotel rooms though! Just the thought of sleeping on sheets that have been used by who knows who just makes my skin crawl. lol I do sleep on the side closest to the bathroom though.
