Hi balari, it is true that many of my friends still couldn’t manage to turn off the flash, and it is not saying that they prefer to use the flash always when taking picture, even their know clearly that they could take a picture without the help of the flash. I learned all about this during my trip to Turkey by the end of last year. We were told before entering one of the museums there, not allowed to use any flash when taking picture inside the building. Yeah, many friends were worried they couldn't take any photos anymore, for they didn’t know how to turn off their flash. So we tried to help them before stepping in the door, but it was rather weird that we couldn’t turn off its function of flashing of a camera, no matter how many of us had tried hard to cope with it Happy posting and have a nice day.

Flash can be a menace at times.A good photographer is a one who know to make use of the available light by adjusting the aperture and speed. You can get great picture with light falling from certain vital angles the beauty of that particular subject can be completely ruined by a flat flash light.

It is true that by adjusting the aperture and speed of a camera could harvest some wonderful effect which an ordinary automatic device couldn’t achieve. We can get the best effect of light in terms of tone and intensity by manual adjustment. That’s why all the professional photographers prefer to use their own specific cameras and equipments.

Maybe they think the flash will enhance their pictures, or they think the flash looks good and professional and they showing off to others that they know what they are doing and really they don't! They are just amateurs! They need to be shown and taken in hand eh Bala! Give someone a camera and they think they are the worlds best photographer

Naturally.Once inside a wildlife part I happen to see a group tourists flashing their cameras at a herd of elephants grazing abut 1oo yards away.Their flash could reach only 8 to 10 feet max.I still wonder how come a single one of them knows that fact.Yeah with the camera in hand they transform into someone.

I'm not really sure why people do that. That is crazy. I bet their pictures do not turn out most of the time with all of that light they recaptuing. I see no need for flash in braod daylight. I only use flash if there is not enough lighting.

Some don't know their flash has limitations; many don't realise the flash has even fired (you can't always tell from the viewfinder-side of the camera; most don't care, because the pictures still look OK.

I think is because they want to make sure that the picture doesn't come out dark. They don't understand that the sun light also helps.

Sometimes, from what I learned years ago, people will use their flash in this way to open the shutter or appature wider to allow deeper saturation of the colors. If it's inside using a flash will help eliminate the yellow cast to the pictures...florescent and incandescent lighting will give a color cast to the pictures that you really don't want. Also, even in broad daylight, it depends on the speed of the film you are using. Photography, like any art, is subjective and is at the option of the person doing the art.

Because they are idiots. I keep my flash off. If I am taking a picture where a flash is necessary then I have to go into the menu of my camera and turn it on. I don't see the point in a flash most of the time.
