Latest on woman who left sick mom in filth

I have the latest installment on the woman who left her mother(who was under her care) in filth. She has been indicted on two counts. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story, a local woman was found living in filthy conditions when medics were summoned to her home. That is great news to hear that the woman will be charged. That is rediculous. I do not know how people can live in filth like that. all they have to do is wipe things off and pick things up. It grosses me out to see filth because there is really no excuse for it alot of times.

That is true. I know my house could be tidier but it would never get so bad as that. Everyone who lives here is healthy and despite being in the "low income" bracket, we still manage to clean. Soap and water does a good enough job if you can't get anything else.

I have seen people, stephcjh, who live in the poorest of circumstances, but they still manage to keep their homes clean because they have a sense of pride.

I'm glad she was indited ...there must have been something really wrong with the woman to allow her mother to live in such squalid conditions and her own home was filthy too--just as bad as that story about the woman glued to the toilet for two years and the boyfriend didn't get help right away

Hey, I'm lazy but I would never leave anyone in such a situation. I think it's plain and simple pure selfishness in this case. The woman couldn't be bothered to make sure her family were taken care of. Even a caring lazy person who didn't want to do it would make sure someone else did. This woman is beyond lazy because she couldn't even do that.

It's a fact of life, pyewacket, that some people are just plain lazy. From what I've gathered this woman has no health condition that could be viewed as an excuse for the ill treatment of her mother. I'll bet that when the whole story comes out it will be found that she was taking the woman's money also. That is the way it so often happens.

what does indicted mean, does that mean it was thrown out of court?

I'm pretty sure it means ordered to stand trial, winterose, since she is already in custody.

I couldn't get the link to work sweety but I remember the story only too clearly! i am glad to hear that this woman is going to have to answer for her actions - or lack of them in this case! i cannot believe that anyone would treat their own mother AND their child in this way! xxx

Thanks for the link sweetheart! I think many of us are in the position where we may very well need to care for a parent - I know I would do so willingly and do the best I could for my Gran - I cannot imagine her being abused in this way! I guess we should be grateful that her child was not ill and that she is probably being much better looked after now than she has ever been! It is a very sad situation all round! xx

I get the idea though. I know I'm not exactly the tidyiest of people but I would not leave someone in my care in filth. A little dirt from time to time is inevitable but it looks like the "care giver" in this situation was doing nothing to give that care.

Oh, that is horrible. I got to the "covered in maggots" part. I didn't notice if there was any more to the article, I daren't read further.
I really hope that woman is severely punished. I dread to think just what sort of state the place was left in for it to get that bad. That poor old woman should have had a decent person to care for her and so should the child. I wonder how it gets that bad without anyone doing anything way before it gets to that stage.

I can't even image this type of behavior. I have met several people in my life who kept a less then tidy house, but never anything like this. That poor mother, and the poor daughter as well. I am glad there was finaly some help found. I hope the mother survives. How iky and sad..
