Would you like to be 16 again, if given the chance and opportunity, would you like to go back to that phase of your life. If yes, please do tell me your reasons for again becoming 16 years of age.

....precious childhood.. - Time is precious.
I am not sure about my friend who failed when at 16 and later on topped the university. But I am very sure that I want to relive my teens, if given a chance. I would want to change a few decisions in life. 1. I would want to concentrate more, may be a lot more, on studies. 2. I would want to respect my parents and listen to them 3. I would want to spend more time with my granny When we grow older we realise what each phase of life is supposed to mean. And then we can not rewind things. Time is so precious that we should value it for we cannot step on the same time twice! Thanks.

Thanks very much for sharing and enriching the post. Yes, sometimes we think that we may be given another opportuniy to re-live our particular phase of life, so that we could make 'corrections'. But the past is past, it is not going to come back. I will check the link.

no deepak, I would not want to be 16 again and my reasons for it are: 1. I HATE studies. Just imagine, 16 means board exams, and then at 18 higher secondary exams and then college and then ughhhhhhhhhhh I don’t want to go back 2. I would have to start so many things all over again. Search for a job, fall in love, get married, start family, have kids…no its too much trouble to give up what I have now. 3. I would have to learn so many things again…so many experiences, each enriching me in their own way. 4. no matter how back I go, I would still have to go thru my life with all its happiness and shortcomings. Happiness is OK, but the shortcomings are not so. I would not want to repeat those sad moments of my life.

Hi Deepak, No, its not that I don’t want to be 16 again coz life at that time was full of struggles. No, it wasn’t, I was dependent on my parents and except for regular skirmishes that parents have with teenage children, life was smooth. Then college and more fun and then love and heartbreak and then reconciliation and then marriage and child and here I am. What I am trying to say is that I don’t want to repeat this entire journey with all its ups and downs and it seems most of us guys here think similarly incl. you PS: give me sometime, I’ll definitely read the short story and get back to you.

I don't think I would like to be 16 again. That is my daughters age right now. I would not want to go back and relive alot of bad things in my life back then. I would only go back if things would be different for me. I didn't have friends and didn't get to go places. Life was really boring back then.

Oh God no way! 16 I think is one of the worst ages to be, you're still a child in the eyes of the law and your parents (although your parents will always think you're a child even when you're 30 or more) but you feel grown up and want to do your own thing and fight against anyone that tries to stop you. I was quite a shy kid and remember that I pretty much came out of my shell when I turned 16 or so, started dating guys (nothing more than going to the cinema or shopping and holding hands or kissing) but boy, was it hard when you split up with someone. Even if it was just a few weeks or months, at that tender age you feel like it's the end of the world. I remember crying over boys whose names or faces I can barely remember haha! How sad, but very typical of girls of that age. You think every breakup is the end of your life and gosh how my friends and I bored each other with stories of breakups, I cringe when I think about it now. So no, I definitely wouldn't want to go back to an age when I was obsessed about my weight and appearance and worried excessively about what others thought of me. Much nicer being a grown up and being confident in yourself and expecting people to accept you the way you are :) So tell me pal, would YOU like to be 16 again? :)

OH! What an interesting response. You are 'Master' in narration. You write so beautifully, that I read the whole reply in one breath. Your thoughts are quite logical, lucid and upto the mark, whatever you have stated is absoultely correct. 16 years is the tender age and one does not know at that stage, what is crush, love and infatuation. Everything is viewed from a special angle, specially by girls....LOL! My reply to your query is - I would also not like to be 16 again, because I was not mature enough (even now I am learning...LOL!) at that time. Thanks for enriching the post!!

Hi pal, thanks so much for the BR on this one and so glad you could see where I was coming from. The funny thing is now that I'm 40 and older and wiser I see cousins or younger family friends or children of friends who are around 16 and they're going through the same sort of thing I went through but they wouldn't want to discuss it with a 40 year as they think they have a monopoly on trauma and heartbreak and no way would a 40 year understand LOL! Bless them! x

I love to. Maybe i can do that while sleeping? what do you think? I have a great time those moment. Sweet 16 i miss it so much..Active in school activities, many friends in different sections in my school. Having a lot of crushes. The most unforgettable that i never forget until right now was me and other three friends had the same crush but they did not know that i had crush to that guy too. And each three of them didn't knew that they had the same crush.LOl. I just knew that we had the same crush coz the each three of them told me secretly. Yup, im the only one they told about. So, i just laugh about it. And thinking whats really on that guy?????Lol! Surprisingly, The guy likes me???Oh my gosh! i can't believe it!LOl. But, he didn't knew how to approached with me co'z im avoiding him. And during my birthday i just appreciated that he gave a chocolate gift and he delivered it himself at our classroom. So..sweet!hehhehe. I guess i forgot my and i can't sleep for this now deepak. I love your topic and i can easily relate with it.

No I would not like to be 16 again. Don't want to go through all the pains and suffering that I have already bravely faced ,may be I would not be brave again. Don't want to go through pain of loosing parents again....don't want to be innocent immature soul who can be used by cunning and rude people of this world. I would rather like to say bye bye to this world as soon as my children will settled down. Don't want to live long to become burden on them.

Hi deepak, I was married into a joint family where kitchen was always full with my two sister in laws, mother in law servants and myself......so we never got any privacy to have any romance in the kitchen. Now sister in law got married but children have grown up.....so romance in the kitchen did not really happen.

ALthough 16 was a wonderful time for me. I don't really think I would like to go back there again. I feel there is a time for everything and I have enjoyed each year - some more than others :) - . I am planning on keep enjoying each year as they come and that's why I feel that repeats are not really necessary :) But if I was forced to choose an age to go back to , I think I might go with my thirties just because I wonder if I would change my path at some point there. Thank again, maybe that wouldn't be a good idea either, so maybe not even that.

No I don't think so. Because it would be quite meaningless to me if I don't possess the memory I have now and go back to when I was 16, I would still choose to be the same person and make the same choices and therefore I would turn out to be where I am now. So I think I would just rather stay where I am.

Hi deepak! I think it would be fun to go back again when I was 16! I would like to be with my mommy and spend much time with her again. It would really be great to be with my friends again at that age when you are so carefree and be just young and so innocent in everything. I remember that was the time I also graduated from high school and so excited to be in college. And I could remember how my mom usually shop for all my clothes and accessories because I was her princess. If I will be 16 again, I will have at least 10 more years with my mom before she finally goes to heaven. Just my thoughts! Take care and have a nice day!

Hope I won't be judged here, but 16 years for me was pretty stressful as I just found out I was pregnant and I was in year 12. So I had big decisions to make that year, and there was alot of turmoil in my family. But everything did turn out for the best. I made the right choice, I had my baby, finished school, then had a year off and went to university. Now I have a beautiful sweet 12 year old. At age 16 years, was a huge cross road in my life and I am happy with the decisions I made. I had to become an adult very quickly. I would not like to go back to that year though as it was my biggest year in my life to date.

Thanks for your comments. I became a mother when I was 17, was pregnant at around 16 and 1/2 years old. Yes it definately did help me mature well, I am proud of all 3 of my daughters. Being a young mum also has advantages too. Have a great day, my friend.
