I have both. I live out in the boonies and half the time I do not get a signal in the house. Not having a land line is not going to happen unless they put in a cell tower in the pasture. I doubt that is going to happen, so I am stuck with both.

We have just a cell phone. He has his and I have mine. I didn't want a land line at this house because it's only temporary and we would have had to have a new line put in in order to have a land line phone. After we move I hope to have a land line and just use the cell for whenever we go on trips or in case of an emergency.

Well technically, the only phone I pay for, is my cell phone. We also have a landline phone, but my parents pay for that. In fact, I don't even think we need it, because bill collectors are the only people that call using that number! I've had my cell phone for a little over a year, and would rather have it, rather than having a landline phone.

We have both in my house. One is used for business. The other is used for communication. Well, to be honest, the landline is used for the free long distance. We might be able to drop that, unless my wife picks up another calling from the house type of job. I'll also have to look into the various voice over IP options for a phoneline. Always good to watch where your pennies go, I say. The cell phones work just fine for a house phone, I think. I've heard of people doing this for years and it makes a certain sort of sense if you don't call or receive many calls.

I have a landline phone for my lovely dialup internet service. I hardly ever use a phone anyway. I do have a cell phone also and I use it for texting only to my husband when he is away from home. I have one of those cheap, prepaid ones. It is very affordable to use and the minutes last us for quite some time.

We have one cell phone and one land line. The cell phone belongs to my mother, but everybody in the family uses it. So, it is a sort of community phone. We need a land line because we need an Internet connection. I am on dial-up right now. Cheers and happy mylotting.

I have both, a mobile phone and also a house phone. Sometimes I do use my landline to call out when I'm at home. Needed it because the internet service provider that I'm subscribed to requires us to have a landline before we can subscribe to their broadband services, something like that.

I'd had only a cell phone for about three years and I loved it. But, when we moved to where we live now, we don't get cell coverage, and no cable for internet, so we have a land line. I do still have a cell, because it is in contract but we have very limited minutes and use it only when we drive into town.

I have both, I rarely use the landline phone though, but the rest of my family do, so we keep it and we get our internet through it, which is another reason to keep it. I thought it was really odd when two of my friends didn't have landlines and it was really annoying before I got my contract, because I couldn't ring them since it would cost a fortune.

I have both because I get a discount on my internet when I have a landline. I also barely use my cellphone and it's a pay as you go phone. If I ever get into financial straits, I can get a low-income discount from my landline phone company, too.

My wife and I both have a cell phone and and landline phone. We use the cell phone for emergencies only(Or we try to) and the phone at home for other calls. We have a prepaid cell phone. I know people who only have a cell phone for all of there calls.

We 'used' to have both a cell phone and a land line. We switched over to just a land line because when we went somewhere were alwyas getting phone calls and we did not like that. Plus we were getting outrageous 'roaming' charges. $65 for 15 phone calls from Vegas to home. At least to me, that is outrageous.

We only have cell phones as well. We have a family plan, but just my husband and I have phones for it. When we finally buy a house though, I do plan to put a land line in simply because I would not mind getting rid of my cell phone or at least switching to a pre-paid for emergencies only. I am home enough that a landline would suffice.

Hello, mommy! While it is difficult to manage with bare necessities because of price hike it is not advisable to maintain cell phones and a land phone at home by me.so i have surrendered my land phones after purchase of cellphones.more over the cost of calls in land phones was higher than the cost of in cell phones.so i preferred surrendering the land phone.thank you.

We have two cells (one for me and one for hubby) and a landline because it came bundled with internet. We don't use it a lot. The only good thing is that since our services are bundled, we haven't see a price hike in our internet service in the past 3 years. Just notices that say that we have a faster speed, but no higher price.
