Spring Has Sprung

My Lilac Bush - It's starting it's budding. This is the 2nd year for it and I hope to have flowers this time around.

Well even though we still have some snow left on the ground and more expected next week the spring budding is upon us here in Minnesota. I went outside as it was in the low 60's today (Sat) to clean up the dead branches by pruning the trees and shrubs I have. Well as I did the Lilac bush I saw these buds. I can't wait to get a whiff or their aromatic scent in a few months. This is it's 2nd year so it should flower this year. Hopefully. How's things budding in your area? Do you have any snow left with buds showing up? HAPPY SPRING FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Awwwww Im glad your Liliac bush is popping out. I love that smell. Well I have daffodils that are just about done now. So I went out planted some tulips to go with them. I could never have tulips or daffodils at the other house because the deer would eat them.LOL Happy Spring to you!Enjoy!

I have been thinking of planting some other flowers but I have to deal with what I got now. I need to thin my Lilies and find spots for those first. Hahaha!! I have rabbits munching on my Lily leafs. Not the flowers just the leafs. I am going to get some repellant this year to rid that issue. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I bought some tulips several years ago that produce multiple short red blooms on each plant. They faithfully come back each year.

Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods too. Its a lovely warm, sunny day in the 60's. I also did some outside work, cleaning up etc. Our snow has melted except for the snow mountains from plowing parking lots. I have been seeing Robins for a few weeks, the trees are budding up too. I have also seen some of the early spring flowers poking out of the ground. Ahh Spring...

No problem... I do understand I love the Springtime, its my favorite season. Everyone and everything is happy. The birds are singing, the plants are popping out of the ground, the squirrels are busy, I don't even mind seeing the first bugs. Aren't we lucky that we truly have seasons, we can appreciate the springtime. Its so welcome after a long winter.

I still have small areas covered in snow due to them being in shaded areas. My red maple out front is full of buds. I've been listening to the robins and cardinals all day singing their mating songs. Lovely sounds and sights today. Thanks. Got your PM, and thanks again. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

No spring flowers here yet. As it is autumn plants are struggling to survive the drought & big heatwave we had. My plan today is to begin pruning. That may help save some native plants. I am not familiar with the Lilac bush. I bet it is very pretty.

Lilacs are my favorite flower bushes. I love the smell--- they are so strong and last a long time. Our lilacs don't have buds yet.. soon I bet. I can officially say there is no more snow anywhere in my yard- and I'm so glad! Spring is here

Back Fence - Tons of Lilacs here each Summer
Heres a shot of my back fence. Tons of Lilacs each Summer. They are in the neighbors yard but they don't mind us picking them. We place a group in a vase and the aroma stays in the house for a long time. I love them as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I love that they stay so fresh for so long after they are cut-- and the aroma really goes throughout the whole house. I can't wait for mine to bloom!

Here in south/central Ohio we've got daffodils galore, obviously, and I've got a few grape hyacinth that have come up and flowered already too. The forsythia is just starting to bud and while my husband and I were out visiting family at the cemetery yesterday, there were peony shoots everywhere! No snow left here at all and it's supposed to be in the 60s for the next few days, but I heard a chance of snow showers sometime later in the week. My husband said there's always one more snow after the forsythia starts blooming, so hopefully this will be it!

I killed off my Hyacinths to make room for more Lillies and my Phloxx out front. those are much prettier and the phloxx lasts till fall so it is more showy. Today (Sunday) it has been raining fairly heavy all day. So this is going to be great for all my plants/buds. Wooo Hooo! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well I just moved here a few months ago so everything I'm finding out there is brand new to me! The hyacinth were the first to bud so I moved them and some daffodils to the front yard where they can be seen from the road. I put just a couple of the daylilies there too, and the rest I put alongside a privacy fence that surrounds a small storage shed. And I can't wait until the one lone tulip shows its pretty face!

As I live in Florida, we don't get snow. But my roses are already blooming! I have one that has already bloomed out and it is beautiful. I am going to take a picture of it tomorrow. And I have three more that should be blooming any day now.

I do not have any snow left, but that does mean it will not come back. I already posted a shot of my purple lilacs. It is going to be 70 or nearly so today. I will have plenty of lilac blooms in early May. As far as ornamentals in my yard, first it is forsythia, then quince, then lilacs, a little wait then late June I will have Rose of Sharon. (Althea). That does not include the fruit trees.

I saw that photo. Nicely done. I can't recall all the type I have. I know I have Columbine, Cleamtis, Lily of The Valley, Jacobs Ladder, Seedums, Beebalm, Lilies, Hyrdagena, Hostas, Phloxx, and others that I am at a loss for names as of right now. Just a few huh? I am thingking of a plum or pear tree possibly this year or next as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am so glad that spring is here. I want to get outside and work in my yard and my garden so bad. The weather isn't staying very earm here though so we have to wait a while. Nothing is really budding here yet but it will soon as the sun is shining very strong today. I am so ready to not be couped up in the house.

If the sun has been shining then the ground may be soft enough to peek around and see some buds somewhere. I wasn't expecting any at all today as it has not been warm here either. I found oh so many things budding. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Lilies and ground cover.. - ..peeking up thru the leave mulch seeking the warm sunlight.
Everything is budding and coming up. Beautiful sunny 65 degree weather today. I threw some of the windows wide open to let the fresh air in.

There is still some snow left in a few places through out my yard but for the most part it's gone. The trees still aren't ready to bud out but the grass is starting to green up. I hear there's more snow on the way....crap!
