That's right, Grandpa Bob oves singing. And Grandpa Bob loves his flower beds. I have many Asiatic Lilies as well as a couple of other varieties of Lilies growing. I had about 50 Asiatic Lily last year. As I was cleaning the mulch around the flower beds today I came across many buds from my Lilies. This is one of mnay Asiatics that have poked their head through to see the sunshine and bask in the heat as well. I also saw maybe 25 new offshoots of them. So I think I may have a bit of work ahead of me thinning the Lilies out this spring before they get too big. Or I wait till fall then thin them out. I have no idea at this time which way I'll go. I'll play it by ear for now as it is too early anyhow. Do you thin your flowers out as they spread? Do you just let them grow wildly as they wish? HAPPY SPRING FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Pretty Flower - One of the pretty blue flowers.
Well, I managed to get all the weeds out of one area today. Its hard to get it completed with the telephone ringing with customers, who are getting the small items now. One of the gentleman informed me he has a new pond and can't wait to fill it with plants. My daughter told me yesterday he wants to fill it with the ugly ones. It was priceless, as she doesn't like Umbrella Palms at all. She prefers to see big flowers that are colorful like the one below.

I can't pull weeds yet. I have seen a few but not too sure if they are REALLY weeds or a nice surprise that I may have planted last year. I want a nice water pond garden with a water fall etc. I have the perfect spot thats a hill and would be great to attract birds with the running water sounds. But the cost is the problem at this time. Some year maybe. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hello dear Grandpa Bob. I can hear you sing 'Spring is in the air' while you are in your garden for your plants. I hope that the arrival of spring will bring your garden everything new and exciting. Spring is in the air. The best season of the year is spring. I wish you all the best, Grandpa Bob.

Well I guess that singing, "I'm Singing In The Rain" tomorrow will also bother the dogs in the neighborhood? I can give Tyler some more to plant once they get a little bigger also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM DADDY!!~

I love flowers too and I just cannot wait to get outside and put a garden and some fresh flowers out. I am so tired of being couped up this year. I have planted some live foreever plants and they come back thicker every year. I always have to thin them out but 'I plant them in other places. They never die. You can plant them anywhere. I couldn't stand for them to grow wild though. It would look too messy.

Having my Beagle Buster keeps me busy all year with his daily walks and running so I was never really couped up inside. I need to find another sunny spot for the Lilies is the problem. I've so much planted I am running out of room. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Alright, Grandpa Bob. Enough with the spring discussions. lol We know spring is here finally. Think someone has spent the entire morning walking around his yard with camera in hand instead of cleaning up.

I thinned mine out either before they got too big or after they were done blooming. I'm kind of a haphazard at transplanting and I hated for them to go into shock before they bloomed though. And if I waited til fall I would forget where they all were. I liked to have my garden fairly organized, I never liked one kind of flower poking out the middle of another clump. will you post photos when they bloom?

We thin out the plants if they overgrow their garden bed. Then we find a new place for them. We have quite a few Tiger Lilies. They are gorgeous! The Silver Artemesia is starting to spread out a bit more than we would like and when it comes up I want to relocate it to a place that it can spread as much as it likes. It tends to take over the spot that it is currently planted in.

I love all varities of Lilies myself. I will thin mine out but when is the question actually. They really need it badly. I will more than likely give my oldest grandson some as he loves gardening just like his Grandpa Bob does. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

gosh I wish I knew somebody who could plant for me. I have a back yard and I have done nothing with it, I cannot bend down so I cannot garden or do anything myself.

Do you have any type of community gardens near you? Sometimes all it takes is a little hoeing or something like that to get the profits from a community garden. Ask different neighbores etc about this. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I do believe I can hear you singing - even from this distance AGB, don't stop I'm enjoying it! I love lilies - I want to see the picks when they are in full bloom , so don't forget! I have never been very good in the garden and now I can't do it at all but I still enjoy seeing the beautiful flowers and eating the fruit and veg that comes from it - it always tastes better when it is fresh grown! xxx

hi Grandpa Bob you sound so happy. I can imagine how pretty your flower beds will be.I have a small space ofdirt around my patio that I am tempted to plant some bulbs in. Right now its just a tangle of wild grass and weeds and that is not so pretty a sight for sure.
