Earning from Referrals

I managed to get three (inactive) referrals just after I joined MyLot, so recently I decided to go on an advertising drive to try and get more, taking out adverts by e-mail. And the reward for all this effort, I obtained another 8 referrals, increasing the total to 11, and one of them even made a post earning me 1c - wonderful I've earned a whole 1c from referrals The downside to this is that is all I've earned, and all have been inactive since then. I would have been better just responding to a couple of discussions here, instead of wasting time preparing adverts, and checking out that the e-mails have been sent.

Thats strange because mine have always been added to my Friends list here when they became a Member they must have stopped doing that then My Referrals are from 12 ago so it must have changed

I would do that as well, by private message, but none of them have responded to request for friendhip which is required to contact them. It would be more helpful if this was automatic with referrals (even if only allowing 1 initial message), so that I can act as a mentor for them.

My referrals are in the last 3 months and they were automatically added to my friends list. I wrote to them but never got a reply and none of them are active.

Well, I have something like 35 or 36 referrals. Some of them are active, and I have many who have never made me anything here. One of the active ones I did get not too long ago, so you never know where they will come from. Personally, I feel it is worth to let others know about this site, and if you get an Active referral Good, and if not, do not give up. I am sure there are many that do not know about this site, and could benefit from it. It is just up to you.

You only need 1 really good active referral to make it worth your while looking for them, it can be disheartining going to a lot of trouble getting them, and they just vanish without trace. However with over 142,000 members now then someone must be getting active referrals/

of course not, I think it is good that you got quite a few of referrals, I had gotten a lot of referrals and the only ones that I made money from were about 5 to 10 out of 400, and none of them have been writing in mylot for the past, Oh I do not know, maybe like 6 months or more. I have to admit that I had not been writing on here for a few months, I just get busy and all, but Here I am back now and I am excited to make money. I need the money so bad that is why I am here now. I have decided that I am not going to worry about the referrals at this point and just make the money I need to make, once I get my others better off then I will be okay. I do have a couple of sites that are doing well if I can just get some more off the ground then I can see really taking off

I believe that when it comes to referrals we have to be smart with who we, get. Everybody that we think will be active will not be into it like you. So it is really just all about taking risk. I have about I say one good referral. I got him on here and he said it is very addictive to him. So I am glad that he enjoys this site, because it is benefiting me in some cases. The discussions and the atmosphere is so cool on here.

Hello there Eskimo, I could totally relate to what you said. As for me, I have a total of 4 referrals and none of them are active as well. All of them are what I call in a "sleeping mode", LOL.. I think that I've stopped trying hard to refer to people and instead focus on mylot discussions and answering them. And anyway, I think that the amount I earned by posting should be a better effort than waiting for months and maybe years for my referrals to do something at least. But I don't blame them, perhaps they join under me just to make me feel good. But I can't force them if they aren't interested at all to the system here. Maybe not all referrals are into ptp sites like mylot. By the way, do you know how I could earn by posting pictures here? Which tab do I go to? Thanks.

Wow, I just always assumed people who made referrals were making money from them. When I first started coming to Mylot, I asked three or four people if they would be interested in a referral and they responded so negatively that I just never bothered asking anybody again. Funny thing is that most of the people I've told about Associated Content have been interested although I don't think they have any kind of referral system over there. (Been so long since I've been on there I can't remember)

Although getting active referrals is very difficult I still believe in them. Its a numbers game. That one active referral could literally pay your light bill, ok maybe a cable bill. You just have to find the right type of person for mylot. Someone that loves to talk, talk, talk. Good luck!

It really depends on the pression of those referrals, are they really want to be ACTIVE. So good luck to all of you ! BTW, I still have no referrals, it's too bad for me. Cheers.

I too have heard too many people say it is just not that good to try to get referrals and that most of them just end up wasting your time and effort and are inactive, I guess your chance are better if you really know these people and know if they are likely to be participating on a regular basis but in all fairness I think you can still make a little something without referrals because you can have fun with the vast number of topics being discussed once you get into it. I think it is so much fun and sometimes forget the time because I am enjoying the things people want to discuss.
