I got a new roomie who moved in last week. Her room is very clean and orderly. She likes to keep things extremely clean and organized. Her always looks perfect, she always make her bed. she never throws her clothes on the floor. And she have all her stuff well organized, room, books, sweaters and even newspapers are stacked in order, she is a real neat freak.
Well,I'm not a neat freak, so I don't care if everything is neat and perfect.Yeah,I have to admit I am a lazy bone. But it's great to have a neat freak roomie,I guess I will have to learn from her,and begin to get organized. What about you?Are you a neat freak or less organized ?

I am not a neat freak. I am organized a little bit but its in a weird way that probably only myself can get lol
I have times when i am more organized but i then eventually start getting lazyish again and come back to the point i am getting very very close too lol i should probably fix it up some but i so don't want too!
However my mom is a neat freak! and it drives me up the wall..sometimes though i will do something just because i know it bothers her lol but i do it jokingly.
no one if our family is like that but her so she is always freaking out and cleaning, picking up stuff and yelling at us to more organized basically.

Yes. I am very bad about keeping things organised. I think it is a good thing but alot of people look at me strange and some put me down for it. I think it is great to be organised and know where everything is at. I hate things to be a cluttered mess.

I am somewhere in the middle of neat freak and not entirely organized. I have areas of my life where I am a neat freak. Paying bills immediately, trying to make my bed every day, keeping things fairly organized. I get stressed with mess. But, then there is the less neat freak in me where, I hate to clean. I can straighten things up and have not real issue with that. But, the actual cleaning part, the mopping floors, the dusting and keeping everything sparkly clean...nope! I hate it! Hate it with the white hop passion of a trillion sons! It is a long, painstaking process for me. I do clean on Sundays but, I am not as thorough as I should be. I don't move everything off my kitchen counters to get behind it all, and don't wipe every item on my kitchen counters down. I just clean the surfaces you can see. I mop now and then because I have a honking huge black lab (120 lbs...his parents were 140 and 160 or 170 so, he has a big family tree) and, he drools all the time, sometimes even in the winter. So, to mop every week, would drive me crazy because, as soon as I get it done, I have dog drool on it. I rarely wash my windows. Really, I would love a maid but, can't afford it. And, since it takes me an hour or more per room, it would take me an entire day, plus another couple hours another day to be as throrough as I should be with the cleaning of my house. So, frankly, I just don't have that kind of time on the weekends. I literally takes me nearly 3 hours to clean my kitchen, half bath, master bath and guest bath on Sunday. Really...I am not that anal retentive about the rest of my house. By the time I get all of that work done, who wants to spend the rest of my only time off on the rest of the house?
So, I am not really a neat freak. I am orderly. Just not spotlessly clean.

I'm personally a bit of a lazy bone myself. I clean maybe once a week, on one of my days off. Some of my things are organized, my books, but that's about it. I like to keep my books put into categories by author, and then when they are by author, I then do them either by number in series, or if they aren't in a series, than I do them in alphabetical order.

Yes im a neat freak my children arent though so I have to compromise as I dont want to waste our time together moaning about always putting things away. So they do their best which is great cos they are only little and I do the rest when they have gone to bed and enjoy those few hours when my house stays as neat as I want it!

I prefer to see everything in my house tidy, clean and decent. But sometimes my house still looks a bit messy if I am busy and short of time to take care of them. I do have to learn from your roommate to keep everything in order but not to be a real neat freak. I am a bit lazy so it is quite difficult for me to make everything in my house looks perfect.

I am far from a neat freak/ Be careful beczause neat freaks and messy people dont get along unless you make an agreement in the beginning. She will expect you to do part of the cleaning and what you consider clean she probably will not. I will not live with other people because of that reason. If i dont want to make my bed or sweep the floor or vaccuum, I dont have too.

I am definately not a neat freak, I go through stages where I try to be, but it never lasts for long. It will never happen in my house anyway, not with 4 kids, not with my 4 kids should I say because I am sure they are the most untidiest kids in the world. I am not organised in the slightest, I would not have a clue at where to start with being organised, I am terrible!!

my organized devil rises in me out of complete necessity and not choice.it happens to me one day every week.after messing up the room, floor, wardrobe and study and my bed too it becomes essential for me to do things that makes it look presentable or make me move around without stepping on something of value.so i do it once a week.otherwise i can cal myself lazy or just too comfort seeking individual.

I am not a neat freak. I clean up after myself and that is the extent of it. My boyfriend is OCD so I don't even try. He will just redo what I did to begin with so I just let him have it by himself.

Yes. I'm a neat freak because that's what I got from my mom. She's obsess with cleaning and organizing. Thats why I'm so used to things that are neat and clean. Its hard for me to adjust specially when I'm with other people they might think I'm being over acting so I try to limit myself. I'm a neat freak in the right place and in the right time.

A Neat Freak.. At some places ie. I like to have my Desktop, inbox and my folder directories organized. You cannot call me a computer freak cos there are some other optional areas where I would like my own neatness and cleanliness. My bed is always messy. There's a whole stack of clothes, novels, books, accessories lined along its edge. I like to keep my shoes and clothes neat and clean. My cupboard, is filled with dust covered books from yest years. I love to keep my table and my drawers organized. I like to have my bike cleaned up. But my bicycle used to be the most dusty, or to say the most dirtiest in the lot. lol. I like to be clean sometimes, and sometimes, I just love to be messy,
Being clean and organised helps you a lot. If you have to find something in times if urgency then having an organised room, adds less to the confusion and will give a soothing effect that " all stuff is in place, should be easy to find" . We can also learn from an organised room. Sometimes when life starts to go hay-wire, we can look at our room, and just think about organising our life as well, happened to me many a times, and the results are always positive.
Hope that adds something to your discussion.
