Do you like to drop in on your folks (parents or kids) and friends? You're fed up, or bored, so you drop in on kith or kin...you might bang on their door, or if it's open, just walk inside and say: HI! So they leap out of their skins! Or they may be in the garden sunbathing, or reading the paper, or eating al fresco, or gardening; and you relish and adore the suprised look on their faces and the way they jump as you come into view grinning all over and shouting Only Me!!! Is this you? Or do you prefer a more cautious approach; after all it might not be a good time...which are you? The happy dropper-in, or the cautious planner?

My best friend is about 25 miles from me. My family is from 1200 to 11000 miles from my house. I have to be cautious planner. In the other hand I wouldn't like anyone just show up at my doorstep without calling me first.

I am like you; I prefer organised social events, but am nearly always the soul of courtesy when someone drops by unannouced, even though boy it can be hard at times...

Oh, yes, I would make an unexpected visitor feel comfortable, even if I was not.

No. I honestly don't like to drop in on anyone. they may be busy or it just may be bad timing or something. I hate to put people on the spot if they already had plans. I would rather call them first and see if it is okay if I come over.

I think that's best...

I am the cautious planner type, probably because I do not like to be dropped in upon. I work such long and sometimes strange hours that it really bothers me to be "surprised" so I do not do it to anyone else.

Most people are like you, and me. Privacy is necessary for survival. Occasional visits are fine; but even then I am not always in the mood.

I was raised to call ahead and make sure that their not busy or anything. I also prefer when ppl do that with me. I'd rather ppl call ahead then just drop in. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Well, it minimises probs that way. I struggle to be super-nice when folks drop in on me, because I hate conflict, but sometimes I'm stressed inside because my mood is not right.
