I was watching a video at YouTube. I read one of the comments and someone said that Mariah Carey is FAT. Now if Mariah carey is fat I must be bigger than an elephant (according to this person) Also according to Hollywood everyone should be skinny like Cameron Diaz or Jessica Alba. #2. I have asked my hubby and I can tell you that he said, that he has no idea what cellulite is. But when a picture of Britney pops up of her derierre, the first thing said is: she has cellulite. Now men and women let me test your opinion, here is a list of women, tell me what do you think of their body. Mariah Carey Beyonce Jessica Alba Jennifer Lopez Nicole Richie Paris Hilton Halley Barry

Well it goes both ways it all depends on how others view themselves. If they think they are over weight and a size 1 or 2 then they view women who are a 2 and up and fat. Me I think some the women on your list is beautiful the way they are and smuck what hollywood thinks or says about them, they are healthy and so what if they don't look like skeletons I would rather see a little meat then a protruding hip bone and all skin and bones. Cellulite will be around forever and I have seen really skinny woman have it. It isn't a sin to have just some view it as ugly and unsightly. Those who are skinny are just making it harder for those who do have some meat on their bones. Put Mariah Carey nest to Nicole Richie or Jessica Alba of course she is going to look bigger because they look so tiny But she is still a beautiful sexy woman and those who think she is fat has problems. Stand me next to a elephant and I'd look smaller then I actually am. It's all just how you view things. I remember when people were calling Nicole Richie fat which to me she wasn't just a healthy weight. Now she is to thin. We all have to remember television and videos add 10-20 pounds. On t.v. everything looks bigger then it appears. So htat means all these really skinny girls on television are not eating properly because they might appear fatter on the screen. Look how they ridiculed Lindsey Lohan about her weight and she ended up in the hospital how many times from not eating and from being overtired because she wasn't giving her body what it needed. Because of others view on what is right and wrong about her body.. I say if your comfortable so be it if others don't like it..that is how Kate Hudson views the world gossip about her shapely figure and I feel the same.

We all need to learn to love our bodies whether be a stick, thick, or fluffy. That is why teenagers and women turn to bulemia and anorexia so much because their is to much controversay about what is the perfect size and body image is. Everyone doesn't have to weigh the same weight or look the same. because that be weird because we all have different body shapes and sizes and what might look good on one might look awful on another. I just wish they didn't think they had to starve or almost starve themselvees to be beautiful and realize they already are. Because when they finally feel comfortable with their bodies they can grow emotionally and be happier because then they don't feel as though they are a caterpiller instead of the butterfly.

I agree with you, the problem is some women(teenangers) (and I use to be one) feel like they have to look a certain way. Six years ago I became comfortable with my body, I'm a thick women like Mariah and Beyonce and I learn to accept myself, even now when I had my baby I didn't go crazy on "oh I might look fat" but I have seen women that they hit depression because they feel overweight.

The word "fat" is very subjective. Some people carry extra weight better than others, but most people have some complaint about their figure. Personally, I think that when someone is 20-30 pounds over their ideal weight and begin feeling uncomfortable, they need to lose weight. I am in that category right now. The extra weight seems to drag you down. You don't fit into your clothes any more and don't feel like you look your best. The Hollywood image of women has been skewed for decades. Very few of us could possibly live up to that image. If a woman is within range of the weight/height averages by 10-20 pounds and feels comfortable and active, I would say she is not fat.

I agree with you when you said that some can carry that extra weight and still look good, it's true some people actually look better skinny others look better with the extra weight.

That is hard to say except that someone carries quite extra pounds than the normal weight.

Mariah: womanly Jessica: athletic Jennifer: fit Nicole: skeletor Paris: skinny Halley: Perfect 'Fat'to me is when rolls begin forming. If I could have anyone's body i nthis list it would be Halley or Mariah's.

I'd also like to add that a few rolls here and there shouldn't be obsessed over. it's only when the amount of fat begins to affect one's health and/or lifestyle that something should be done.

I think all of the women you mentioned above are not fat. I agree with some of the responds here that stated "fat" is a subjective matter. I mean there some people out there who are overweight but they still look great. I call that person fat if his/her body fat is visible to my naked eye(something like "imbalance body portion").

I honestly would die to look like any of those celebrities that you listed. Apparently the world has chosen the "be perfect or you're ugly" outlook. It's sad. Have you seen those dove commercials where they have "natural" women in their adds? It's actually kind of refreshing to know that there are other women out there who don't pay $10,000 a week to have a trainer, cook, botox, etc. I don't know. That's just my opinion.

Yes I have seen those commercials, I was so happy when they came out. I remember my friend and I use to talk about it all the time, I loved a lot that someone dare to put a regular women's body in a billboard.

I try to avoid the word 'fat' because it has such negative vibes. I suppose that overweight could equal fat, as could obese. I actually don't believe any of those women you listed would fall in that category. I would call most of them healthy looking - Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton are a little thin, and I'm not sure what to think about Nicole since she was recently pregnant. Keep in mind that not ALL men prefer thin women, and not ALL women prefer thin men, and it's a good thing that there are some variations out there because then healthy and normal can be represented in there somewhere. There is also a matter of body fat percentage, which doesn't always have as much to do with weight, but it makes a big difference as far as how toned or ripped you look, and it can make a big difference as far as health aspects for your body.

When I became aware of diversity that's when I learn to love my body nad my self. I have a friend who is dark skin, I'm white and at that time my hair was blond. She met a cute guy once and she thought that he was really nice and that he could be a perfect match for me. She introduce me to him as we talked I found out that he loves girls with dark skin, he said, "I love their skin color, it looks smooth as if it was tan perfectly" My friend and I we were shocked my friend said, " I though that he will actually fall for you because you are white and blond." As when I met my husband, my friend was intoduce to him and he actually felt for him. Now I ask him why, he goes, "Your friend was too skinny and I prefer them light skin and with more meat." LOL. You learn about taste as you get older.

For me, I'm tired of this "fat vs thin". Looks used to be more important to me when I was younger when it came to choosing a man. Now, I put compatibility and spiritual compatibility at the top of my list. While I admire women who are in great shape, I don't really look at them as being "fat" or "thin" unless they are dressed in a way that makes it really stand out. I'm actually normal weight, sometimes I weigh a little more, sometimes I weigh a little less. I think it's normal for an adult woman to have cellulite. Most women who have gone through puberty have some cellulite, there was even a study on this. All of the women on that list are very beautiful, though I think Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton are a bit on the "too thin" side.

I wouldn't consider any of those women fat and some I would say could use a few pounds added to them. Technically the definition for obese is anyone 20 percent above ideal weight and for morbidly obese anyone who is 30 percent over ideal weight. Now that sounds simple enough but if a person's ideal body weight is say 110 then if they weight 143 they are morbidly obese. Sounds a bit silly doesn't it that someone at 143 pounds could be considered morbidly obese? We have become so obsessed with weight and size that it's beyond ridiculous. When a size 14, which is the most common size among women, is considered a BBW or full figured there is something wrong with our thinking. Now I admit I'm overweight. The smallest I have ever gotten down to is a 12 and even that was hard to find because I'm extra large boned. Most shirts at a size 12 wouldn't fit due to my bone structure. However even when I was that size I was still considered by the scale above morbidly obese. Go figure.

Halle Barry is not fat, she is perfectly proportioned as are mostof these women .they are not anorexic like a few I have seen. Jennifer Lopez is a really gorgeouswoman whom i do not think anyone would call fat .as for the teenybopper Nicole richie and Paris hilton they are not fat eitherl what is wrong with people's perception of the female body. Must we all look like skeltons walking to please the over critical viewer?

Mariah Carey is not fat, in fact she has a lovely figure with curves in the right places. People need to stop obsessing about being skinny, I am naturally slim and have always been a size 2. Now for the first time in years I've put on a few pounds and I am happy about it. Women need to learn to love themselves and accept their natural shape. Also people should be less judgemental about how women look. Who cares if Tyra Banks has put on some weight? What difference does it make to you? I think all the women you have listed look great, they have different body shapes. Beyonce has thighs which look chunky at times, but she gets away with it. Nicole Richie looked nicer when she was a bit bigger. It worries me that we are so obsessed with cellulite and a few extra pounds.

Did you see Jennifer Love Hewitt got criticize, I like what she responded back, women of all type should just grab a bikinni and put it on. Imagine how many women will love to put a bikinni on and they can't because how judgemental other's will be.
