We all have special treasures that we hold onto from our childhood’s. Mine are a little golden bracelet with my name engraved on it that my Mom got me, a teddy bear that my Dad got me when I was 16, a Ten Commandments bracelet and a Mickey Mouse watch. I also had a Thumbelina doll that my Dad got me one year for Christmas although she was lost when we moved away. I really want to find another so I can have one again. Most of my little keepsakes I keep in my fireproof safe although they wouldn’t mean much to anyone other than me I just can’t seem to let them go. Do you save special treasures from your childhood? Are there any you’d like to replace that you lost? What’s your most prized one? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

My most prized possession is a Bible that belonged to my mother. I took it from our house after she had passed away, when I was 10 years old and I have kept up with it all the years and I want to be buried with it.

Mothers Day Craft - I made this for my mom back in 1962 or so
When my mother feel ill with cancer and given a short time to live she gave me a lot of things she knew I cherished from my childhood. This is one of those. I made this for my mom when I was in 2nd grade for a Mothers Day Gift at the Catholic School I attended. Ignore the dust web on it. I really need to wash it though it's so dusty. I also have the plaster cast of my handprint from kindergarten. I love ya mom. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh, yes I have a special box I keep things like that in. I call it my "life box" I have pictures, a cameo my mom gave me, my first bracelet with my name engraved in it. I have the flowers that we had to wear in our hair at my best friends wedding, my mom's engagement ring from my father. I have many little trinkets and things in there...lol I never thought about a fire proof box...da what a good idea. I did lose some things many years ago when my sister's basement flooded and my little box go wet on the bottom. Now I keep it in my bedroom but never thought about a fire... Now I will be paranoid all day about it....jeez thanks...lol Blessed Be, Mari

I have a smooth polished rock pendant that I have had since I was a child. It was our first Valentines Day with my step father. It was my gift from him. I was 11 years old. I don't wear it anymore because I am afraid of losing it. But it will always remain my favorite treasure.

I have a rather tattered and balding soft toy bee. Got it when I was 2 and for over 20 years, I couldn't sleep without it! Not sure where it is now as I have moved a lot over the last few years, but I'm sure he's in a safe place!

I have some books and a couple of cards with cats on them. Got them from my dad - I loved cats already when I was a kid. I also love to sit in my rocking chair, that comes from my grandma´s home. She used to sit there when she read fairy tales for me.... Yes, there are many small things here and there in my home that remind me of my childhood.

Well we don't all have special treasures that we saved from our childhood. I think it is wonderful that you do. I do not have anything. There are not even any pictures of me of my childhood left. It is sad but true.

Sadly I don't have a keepsake memories from my childhood, I wish I did, but they are long gone now. The only thing I have left are all my pictures through the years when I was growing up.

Hi towey. Love your avatar. Mine was a ring my aunt bought me, i love that ring. I wore it all the time it is an orange topaz birthstone. It was the first ring i started my collection with. I wore it until my fingers got to big and my dad had to cut it of.I still have it although my aunt that gave it to me has past. And there's a music box that my grandpop's gave me that i still have, it's kept on my curio stand. It no longer works but i can't get rid of it i'm keeping it for sentimental reasons.

Yes...I have a few things from my childhood that were special to me....one is a little strip of lead..engraved with my name ...my Da was a gardener for a living...and where he worked they bought a plant labelling machine...the plant names were printed out on a strip of lead...and as a treat he did one each for me and my sister....my sister didnt want hers to keep...but I have them both... Ive just noticed below Twoey..that someone has started a `life` box...well my daughter has done this for my grandaughter ...what a good idea it is...all manner of things are put into this life box...and there they will stay until she becomes old enough to appreciate them..

I kept many things so I guess my special treasure is my "big box" wherein you will see all the gifts of my friends like figurines, small scented stationaries and cute pens (back in high school days). I also have my diaries and autographs. Hmmm... ohhh... I have all the letters from my classmates, most of the letters were from my friends & classmates when I was in high school.

I still have toys when I was still a kid. It was a kitchen set of toys. It's red with lots of flower designs. And I think that's the only toys I have left from childhood. My mother keep it in some drawer as displays. I'm glad I still have it. Every time I see actually, I remember how was I when I was a kid because right now I can't see myself playing kitchen games. hehehe..

I have a stuffed Teddy Bear that I was given when I was two from my great grandmother. Yes it's been stitched, re-stuffed and I had to repaint his eyes but I still have him. I think I always will. I never want to get rid of him. He sits up on a shelf with a few other stuffed animals that I keep to remember things by; my grandfather's Fresco St. Bernard for one

I sure do have special treasures, and they are in a special box. It's a pink, plastic heart shaped 'box', with a purple ribbon in the middle. I got it when I was ten, and I began keeping all my special things in there. I have a penny in a tiny bottle I got on a family reunion trip, I have a cheap ring that never fit me a boy gave me when I was ten, I have a wooden cross I got in Bible school, and more. But my favorite are letters from my mother when she was in a conference for work on the other side of the U.S.. She wrote me every day on Garfield stationary, complete with a kiss imprint of her lipstick. She sent those to me when I was eight, and I still treasure them. Thanks for reminding me about my treasures. : )

I used to have alot of special treasures from my childhood. alot of the things were handed down to me when my dad passed away. We were bruglarised in 1998 though and I lost alot of the items and never got them back. I would love to replace them again but they are irreplaceable now. My most prized one did not get stolen though, thank God.
