Somehow everone discusses all the things that are wrong in our lives but what about all the things that are right in our lives? Whats your take on your lives mylotters? What are the things that are really good in your lives? For me it is living in a pretty garden apartment, and having a dear best friend, and a son whom I Love dearly and some close friends who always give me a hug when they come to visit. Also what is good is that so far this year I have been in good health and not had to go to the hospital for anything.lol For the past three years i wasin the hospital for surgery one year, the next I had a bad fall and smashed myshoulder, and a yr ago this Jan iwas again in the hospital with bleeding diverticulitis. so far this year is really good.

What first comes to mind is my family and my little dog, Sherlock. Sherlock is such a joy to me. I have great parents, and I know they would do anything to help me if I ever needed it. I have a caring church family, and despite money being tight, I'm still able to pay my bills on time. That's a big plus! : ) And something I'm really excited about is that the number of migraines I've been having has gone down. I used to get 8 a month, but for the past couple months it has only been five. And that has truly been great because sometimes I end up in the ER for them. And not that the staff isn't nice, but I'd rather not be so familiar with them that I know their names! lol

Ouch! I started getting them at the age of 8, but after a while I started getting some sort of treatment. I can't imagine having to wait for them to just go away. I tried that once when my medicine didn't work, and I couldn't afford the ER, it lasted 6 days untreated. I don't know how you made it.

Family comes first and your dog too of course. Ihave my son and a wonderful best friend, and some old friends from my diabetes class that I can always depend on. and rightr now I am really feeling great I am so glad your migraines are down because they can be such killers.I used tohave them as a child but my parents werefighting all the time and when they finally sort of reconciled my migraines disappeared. I would hurt so bad and always it would end with me vomiting then finally the headaches would stop. mydad was the town doctor and I never did have any medical care for them. I only realized when I was an adult that migraines were what I had.

What a great idea - let's accentuate the positive in our lives for a change. Well here's mine: I'm healthy. My son is finally healthy. I have solid dreams I know I will fulfill for my future. I have great friends who truly care and show me so every day. My gardens are beginning to turn green and bud. The sparrows and doves and robins are singing me awake every morning again. The sun shone for two days in a row this week - a record for the year! lol Mylot pays my internet bill! WooHoo!

Hatley, I want you to know how much I appreciate this post, sometimes we get so caught up in whats wrong that we do not take a few minutes to focus on what is good and great about our lives. What is good is that I look at my drand daughter who is asleep on my couch, she did not want to go home tonight, and I think about how blessed I am not only as a mother, wife, but now a grandmother. I have a home that I love and even tho things are terrible with gas prices, and food prices rising, we can make the payments. Other things might have to be adjusted, but I am blessed. I feel good most days, no need to concentrate on the bad days. I am blessed that I have a job I can now take my grand children to. I am blessed to have the love of a good man. I have good children who struggle yes but at the same time are trying to be good adults. What more do I need? nothing.

hi right life is pretty good and we all have our bad days but we still have a lot to be thankful for
4 May 08
Wow, you have had a tough time recently. Count your blessings, what a good thing to do. I do try (I am very trying) but our efforts to push forward are spurred by our discontent. I would love to succeed on the internet so feel I want to improve my lot! (Oh, is that why this site is called MyLot?) I don't really need to as I have a wonderful husband, two great children and a good house and we are all in good health (if a house can be!) In fact, it is probably a bit late to be a stay at home mum as my youngest (or would that be younger as there are only two?) is off to university too in September so I will probably like the company at work.

You are right Hatley, we are more liable to discuss those things that make us unhappy versus those things that make us happy. We tend to take the little things for granted and even when we get what we are looking for, its never enough. As for whats right in my life. Everything. I'm alive, I'm semi-healthy. I have 3 beautiful children. I am not homeless or close to being. I am gainfully employed. My refrigerator and cupboards are full. I am clothed and have transportation. And last but not least, I have internet access and am a member of mylot. LOL.

The good things in my life, are the fact that this year I too am in good health. This time last year I was getting ready to have a hysterectomy and was waiting for my appointment to come through. So I was off my feet for a long time last year. My children are all healthy too and that is good in my life. I am glad to hear that things are good in your life and your apartment sounds lovely!!

that is true hatley we always complain that life is like this and life is like that... well as waht most people say it is easy to remember bad things than the good ones. for me, as you know i left my husband brought my kids with me... for me now that we are living without him is a right life. right for me and my children. it is not an easy life but a right one. my children are all in school, though now it is summer vacation here. right life is being contented and loving it. your life is right too. having people around you that you love and loves you. as long as you take care of yourself and make sure you are healthy then thats what makes life perfect. have a blessed day my friend.

Life is still beautiful...no matter how negative the whole world around us...no matter how difficult our circumstances are...no matter how gargantuan the challenges humanity is facing presently...life is still worth living...and there is no alternative to living a beautiful life. It might be easy to say for people who have or almost have everything...but for people who have nothing to eat and nothing to sustain them in the long run...we understand it might be difficult. We might as well look life as a hall-full rather than half-empty. Life is never perfect and never will be no matter what. Earth is not paradise. However, despite all these factors, I believe there is still that hope remaining for all of us...

I have a wonderful Niece and Nephew that I love dearly, today I got to see my other Nephew that I rarely get to see and even got a hug from him, I have a Mom that loves me all the time...even when she doesn't have to, I have Brothers that are good to me (for the most part) and a Hubby that loves me and still gets a little jealous, a cat that misses me when I'm gone, MyLot friends that make me laugh and smile and a God that watches over me and keeps me safe. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Hello Hatley!:-) I really appreciate you starting this wonderful discussion. You seem to be a very optimistic person with a positive outlook on life. Hatley, I don't think there are more negative things in my personal life than positive. In fact, there are lot more positives in my life, and problems (personal) seem to be very few and far between, or at least I like to think this way. I am blessed with great parents, Hatley, I can still place my head on the lap of my mother and whenever I did that on occasions in past, I forgot about all my problems. I have the same effect when my father hugs me. My brother and my sisters are very, very loving and caring, they love me and respect me and think of me as a fatherly person. I have great friends who would put their life in danger to save me from any harm. I have a partner that is my life, she has filled my life with color, smiles, laughters and bliss. I have a cute and handsome son who has developed his mental, physical and social faculties quicker than his age fellows. Then I have health and strength and a mind that works, LOL! I play different sports and compete with my friends. I have wonderful weather nowadays, I walk and enjoy all this life has to offer. There is just so much that I can't even start counting. Oh, and my son started walking and I saw him for four hours yesterday on cam, walking, playing, sleeping and eating. He's so funny! :-)

I too think that our kids grow fast. My son was just about 7 weeks old when they left me and now he's over 15 months and it looks like as if he was born a few weeks ago. Hatley, there sure are much more positive things in life, apart from the loving and caring persons in our lives. All those things that we take for granted, like air, water, rain, sunshine, our hands and body working, there is too much to be thankful for! I don't know if I am really optimistic but people around me makes me feel so as they make me feel very fortunate! :-)

hi i do try to be optimistic and it helps with my outlook on life. I was just thinking as I read here how much fun it is to watch the little ones as they learn to walk. and how fast they grow up. my son will be fiftyin june its just unimaginable to me how fast time has flown. You sound like you are also very optimistic and positive and your life is super full too.Isn't surprising how much we do have when we look at our lives in a positive way.

Yes, I have to agree with you that we need to focus on the good things in our lives instead of all the negativity that we face everyday. That is why I have started several months ago to take note of at least one blessing that I have for each day. Actually I started a discussion yesterday just about that. See here for the discussion that I started: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1501687.aspx

I have so many things that are good in my life. None of them involve money or wealth, but they are more precious to me than gold. I have a husband who loves me, 10 children who I adore, and I think they all feel the same toward me, and none of them have ever been in any serious trouble. I have 10 beautiful Grandchildren, the latest was born on Tuesday of this past week, and I am only 51 so still young enough to enjoy them. My hubby had 3 older children by a previous marriage, so that is why. We finally have a beautiful home that is big enough for all 7 of us, we have 5 children still at home (adopted). I am just blessed coming in and blessed going out, as the bible says.

A very nice and sound question here, every one is too busy complaining about and searching for the negative aspects of life that no body cares or sees the positive values of life. No body tends to thing about the nice thing happening around in their life, Too busy fuming about the things that went against them. I am from a middle class family and we don't have the luxuries of life ,just an average living , and I want to do something big in life and I thing about the things i miss in life but I am happy about the things I have in life.Whenever I see a begger i feel I am lucky that i am not like them and feel sad for them. So whenever i see someone below me I thank god for whatever I have and feel happy and good.

Well Hately, good point. I have to say that the good in my life is Health, Wealth (as in knowledge) and memory. I work with people who have lost theirs due to AZ related conditions. ANd everyday I go to work I am thankful I still have this capability that so many of us take for granted. Also, and this should be top on my list. I have strong faith, ethics, morals and confidence in who I am. And I wish you the best and no more hospital stays. An hour there feels like a day.

Who knows what is right in life anymore. Just when I think things are headed in the right direction, all heck breaks loose. Just when I think i am doing things right, the law or government changes things around and it is all wrong again. My year started okay, but here recently all heck has broken loose. I hope to get my life back on track soon.

Hi Hatley! That is so true! I have a lot of difficulties in life and for the longest time now, I am still here struggling. The only thing that keeps me going are those people I love. I keep trying and trying to make our lives better. It is hard to be brave when everything is going wrong in your life. I always wear a happy smile and a brave face just to lift myself up. I do count my blessings even they are few. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!
