Well my Haralred Apple tree had blossoms recently and today they finally opened up. I love the sifght and smell of the blossoms. Now I just hope the bees and butterflies start showing up to pollinate them or no apples. It's been a rough spring here in Minnesota and I have yet to see bees or butterflies around my yard as of today. Have you seen many butterflies in your area? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Cool! The apple tree blossoms opening up that is - not the weather AGB! lol I haven't seen any butterflies here yet although there was a bee or a wasp ( I can never tell the difference) buzzing around a week or so ago! xxx

mmmmm - I am definitely coming over for dinner - I love home grown veggies! All we have this year is potatoes - I thought we had carrots too but apparently we don't! I love the potatoes anyway - just wish we had more of an area where we could actually plant veggies! xxx

Come to think of it, I have not really seen any Butterflies around here in the Seattle area yet as well. We have seen some Bees, but then yet again, maybe I need to look more. We do not have Fruit trees here where I live. It would be nice though.

What beautiful blossoms. My crabapple already has tiny fruit on it. As for bees, gladly ship ya some being they are all over the place in my neck of the woods. I'm wondering if someone nearby bought a few hives to keep bees cause I don't recall ever having this many around. Not many butterflies thou. Just bees.

Thank you very much. yesterday the wife and I counted nearly 100 blossoms. Now if each one turns into an apple we will have a nice harvest for pies and maybe some jelly and of course my tasty apple crumble. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Your welcome. Apple jelly sure is good homemade. I'm going to try my hand at crabapple jelly when they ripen. That is IF I get to them b4 the deer do. They love the crabapples. That's why I want a few more of these trees in my yard.

If you need bees, I'll send you some as I'm swarming with them this year! That's because my landlord has let a guy store his bees in the field we live on, so we have way more than usual. As much as I love bees pollinating everything, they are overtaking the water faucets, our pond, and everything else outside. I need to take a picture so you can see it for yourself! We have some butterflies too, but not as many as there are bees! If only it were the other way around.

bees - Bees on faucet.
Sorry for the delay Grandpa Bob. The winds picked up and the weather cooled off for the last few days, so I couldn't catch any bees until today. I hope I am not too late. Here are some to start off with. But the butterflies stay here!

Oh yeah, I have noticed them, mostly because my dog tries to eat them.. I hope I get apple too, in fact any help you can give me to improve my chances of getting apples would be appreciated..I have had my apple trees for many years, but I don't know enough to know about spraying because I try to do all organic gardening, but finding that difficult with apples..Unless you have a great organic tip, please inform me..

I love apple trees, my Grandmother has apple and pear trees that grow in her garden, she planted them all from seeds years ago and they are beautiful now. I have seen lots of bees in my garden, some real big ones too, but to be honest I cannot recall seeing many butterflies, I think that I have seen one because I remember commenting that it was the first one I had seen all year. I could perhaps send you some of the bees though, I mean there have been loads of them!!

I had a look at your lovely photo & left a comment. Our two apple trees are obviously not in blossum yet. We have a wattle tree out in the front in full flower & the bees are their in their hundreds. They must really love the wattle nectar. Hopefully the bees will be attracted to your apple blossum. I haven't seen any buterflies lately.

That is great to hear. I love it when flowers and my plants in my garden bloom. I have not seen any bees this year other than the wood boaring ones. they like to hang around my decks and boar holes in them. I slap them with the flyswatter though. I have not seen any butterflies yet either but I sure hope to see some of them soon here in Indiana.

I live in a tropical island Grandpa Bob and I see butterflies a lot of times. Though I live in the city where the traffic is quite heavy and the houses are so close to each other that it allows very little space for trees and plants, there are still areas here the have butterflies and birds. Just yesterday I saw some birds but no butterfly in our backyard. LOL!

We have a lot of birds visiting our garden now digging for the earthworms right after a watering and or rainfall. I love watching the different birds ways of geting at the worms. From a down right diving pattern to a small peck making the worm appear on the surface. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I haven't seen any yet. I think they're all hiding from the cool and damp weather we've been having.

Here in Minnesota we have nor really had much of a spring like weather system. In the first couple of weeks of May we were still getting freezing temps with snow falling so that's why there's no butterflies and bees to be seen yet I think. Well thanks. When they arrive I'll let ya know. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

bees visiting flowers - It is nice to know that your flowers are open with so many butterflies and bees coming to pay a visit.
Hello dear Grandpa Bob. It is nice to know that your flowers are open with so many butterflies and bees coming to pay a visit. I am sure that they smell so sweet as to attract them for the flowers. Good job, Bob. Keep it up.

Hi GRANDPA BOB! That must be a really beautiful sight to behold when butterflies are all over the apple tree. It could be very magical to see. We do have several butterflies pollinating the flowers in our garden. I really like watching them go from one flower to the other. Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

I haven't seen as many butterflies this season as one season a couple years ago. They seemed like they were everywhere I wanted to be that year. I see one or two every couple days around here. But, that year, I saw no less than 5 a day. We had a colder winter and spring than usual this year so, maybe they are really just getting around to stretching their beautiful wings. Take heart! I think everyone's blossoming season was a little later than usual this year so, I can imagine that your bees and butterflies aren't too much farther away!

I haven't seen any yet, but I do try and keep a lookout for them.. I do so enjoy watching them flit around all over the yard and near the bushes.. I am hoping for them soon as we like to sit on the porch and observe what ever is going on in the yard..
