Little things that make me happy

I was a member of a writing community for over 2 years, and for all the period of time I was very unhappy because Americans got money for posting and gift certificates and internationals did not.
I was one of the most active writers on the site, yet I couldn't get any of the benefits.
Just a few months ago I decided that since I could not use my points that had been accumulated I would gift my gift cards away. I gave away about 225.00 in gift cards to my friends who were American and could benefit from the gift cards whereas I couldn't.
Then I found out that the home depot cards could be used in Canada, nothing else just home depot.
I order 2 50 dollar gift cards and today my son went out and purchased a microwave with them.
I haven't had a microwave in years because I just could not afford them, even as cheep as they are.
I am so happy, I got one free with the gift cards, it was a good day for me.
Do you belong to any sites that offer gift certificates?

Yes, I also belong to MyPoints and they have a huge variety of gift cards. I love getting them for restaurants. It helps the budget and going out to eat is nice for a change. BzzAgent will be having a reward system starting in June that will offer gift certificates. Can't wait to see what all they will have!
I'm glad you got your microwave! I love mine :)

Canada and United States can join MyPoints, which is a great site. You might consider Quick Rewards also, as its Canada and United States also. Both have many gift cards, but I cash out for paypal at Quick sometimes.

I am a member of a few sites that pay with gift cards. They come in handy I usually get Walmart ones whenever possible. We don't have a Home Depot in my twon just a Lowe's so far. Wow that is great I love my microwave and I am glad you were able to get one again they are handy gadgets to have. I use mine everyday. You were very nice to spend your earnings on your friends. That shows how warm hearted you truly are.

I don't belong to any programs that rewards with gift certificates anymore. Long time ago, I used to belong to a program where I had to listen to music, rate it and get points, that paid out with amazon gift certificates. After I have used them to get my daughter stuff for Christmas, along with family. I used them to get Christmas gifts for 4 families and a book for a friend's son.

The site just suddenly stopped, it came to a huge shock to me, because I wanted to give more families a better Christmas. The last person I was actually able to get for was this sweet little 2-3 yr old that had a tumor over her eye. I got her the singing Barney stuffed animal. I receieved pictures of her with him, holding him while she received her treatments. I received letters thanking me for making Christmas a reality for the these four families. It made my day, knowing with a friend's (she brought the families to me) help, these parents wouldn't have to worry about telling their kids of no santa that year. No matter how hard I have tried, but I can't find another program like that one.

Does the site start with G? If so, I'm a member and didn't think that its fair. I think everyone should be able to receive a reward, if they want one. I'm aware some people don't care about winning a gift card, but I sure do want to get one.
Glad to hear your son was able to use gift cards to get a microwave for your place. I really depend on my microwave to defrost dinner, as yesterday would have been a long day of cooking, as forgot to take food out of the freezer for dinner. My daughter was here and quite hungry.

That is great. I am glad that you were able to buy something of use with the gift cards. I am glad that you finally got you that microwave also. I am joined with a few sites that offer gift cards as well. some sites offer Amazon.com gift certificates also and you can go there to redeem the money and buy whatever you like with the money. the money also covers the shipping and handling too.

Wow-- that is awesome! I'm so glad that you were finally able to use the gift cards for things you need! That is wonderful. Why did you continue with the site if you could not use what they offered?
I was a member of a couple of sites that you earn gift cards- judy's book (stopped gift cards), mypoints-- I just joined and have enough points soon to get a couple big cards!, Netwinner (game) and I recv'd 2 gift cards from them :)
The other sites are all money sites (to my paypal).
Congrats on being able to use the gift cards :)

I am an Amazon affiliate, but only one person has used it. I do belong to the writing community and I stopped writing because I did not get paid. I decided to concentrate on myLot and on my novel since I do need the money. Most of my gift certificates I get as Christmas and Birthday presents although I got one when I purchased my cellphone at Walmart. I would rather receive the money, but if I knew that the gift certificates can be used in Canada, that would be okay. Bit since Helium wants me to rank so many articles a week and that would leave me no time to write, I am trying to go elsewhere.

Hey winterose. I don't belong to any sites that offer gift certificates. I am just active on mylot. Thus I am not quite how all these things are going. But I am glad that you finally have a microwave of your own. I think you must be happy of that base on your words.

I'm glad you were able to get and use a Home Depot card. That's wonderful. Perhaps you should pass the word at that other site?
Besides that site and this one, I am at MyPoints too, and BT. But I also do lots of different surveys, some for cash, some for points and gift cards.

Hey winterose, there are many things that you can buy in home depot. So glad you are going to benefit from your writing now. Yes, I have mypoints, and test spin that offer gift cards as incentives, Ilove both programs.

That is fantastic that you are able to use your gift cards at The Home Depot and that you got a microwave. I am happy that you found out that your writing does pay off in more ways than just to put a smile on someones face or a tear in their eye.

Oh that is fantastic news Winter_rose I remember you saying you didn't have a microwave so this is brilliant. I am so pleased that you can now use these gift cards in Canada too and how lovely of you to have given the others away to friends. I belong to 2 survey sites where I get gift certificates for Tesco so I save up and put towards my food shopping at Christmas time and because Tesco are similar to Walmart I can get other items too if I need. Ellie :D
