The Economy

I own my business selling pond plants. What do you do as a self employed person? Is the economy hurting your business? Many people aren't putting in large ponds in this area like past years. I'm seeing more little hand dug ponds, as people try to save money on their pond.
Are you making changes in your business? Do you have a website?

Ms Fish..Love your plant business!
I have seen alot of the economy wrecking alot of business's here too, plus mine, so at first i thought it was me they were ignoring and not buying but now i heard its everyone. maybe this seems sad for me to say but i'm glad they are ignoring all and i won't feel its just me.
Someday this economy will bounce back.

I just hope it bounces back before I'm the one that is closing. I'll admit not every city is in trouble in this area, but many people are still downsizing. Thanks for the reply.

I don't have a business but I certainly do sympathize with those who do. It's pretty nasty right now and I hope it doesn't get much worse. I'd diversify a bit if I were you. Do you also sell little garden statues? I see a lot of people in Home Depot, Walmart and Lowe's buying those--decorations for their ponds and gardens.

This year people are driving less, so have less customers. I'm not the only one in trouble, as Home Depot is closing many stores this year. The local store is in trouble and has a tiny pond section.
I don't sell the garden statues, as Green Thumb has 1000's of them. Target tried to get a line of them at the local store and couldn't sell them.
I am adding more types of plants, as that is the one area I need to expand. Right now, each customer has been buying my newer lines of plants, so that is where I'm trying to make money.
Thanks for the reply.
