Yes you read this right. I am in Minnesota and it is after 11 at night. And it has been well over 100 degrees in my back yard. Well beside my bonfire or in it anyhow. This is awhile after I started it. I let the flames simmer down and stood by the fire having a cup of coffee and a cigarette. Of course the wife is complaining I play with fire too much and it stinks. I love the smell of fresh cut wood burning. Do you like bonfires? Do you enjoy the aroma of a campfire or bonfire with fresh cut wood? Or are you the type that hates the smell of smoke etc? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

There's nothing like a nice bonfire. They're warm, cozy and so beautiful, I could sit and study them for hours. The smell great, I don't mind the smoke in my clothes.

I love the smell! I've even been considering buy8ing one of those little fire thingy's for the back yard.. We have a large fire pit a little further out in the yard, but we only use it once a year! Maybe if I bought one of those holders we'd actually have a small fire once in awhile.. (I knew it couldn't have been 100 degrees as I heard Minnesota was having a frost alert the other night! so I thought about your garden and flowers! And we had a frost alert the next night so I brought in my new rose plant I haven't planted yet!)

They seel fire rings. They are about a foot tall and about 2 feet around. That's what I have around my firepit to keep the ashes from going on the yard etc. $20 or less usually. No frost here it got chilly though about 40. Plants are good though as they survived. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I love the smell of the fresh cut burning wood also. We are not allowed to have a bon fire or anything like that in our area anymore. We cannot burn trash or anything. I love bon fires and marshmallow roasts too. I love that camping type stuff. I love to sit by the fire and roast some hot dogs also. I just really like the outdoors. I grew up on stuff like that.

Hi GRANDPA BOB! I guess that will depend on where I am! haha..If I am inside the house and the smoke is getting in, I would not like it! But if I am outside the house, doing the bonfire and it is very cold, I will like it very much! haha.. Take Care and God Bless! Celebrate Life!

I think my eyes are boggling out at it being 100 degrees atleast in your backyard, and your drinking coffee and smoking. I assume it's not ice coffee, is it grandpa bob? wow.... I like the smell of smoke, and fire... that is if it's a controlled fire...

500 degrees? - Felt at least that hot and I was about 15 feet away when I took this shot
Not iced coffee. It was well over 500 degrees at one point. This picture is proof of that. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I love bonfires too. It's a bit chilly here though in the 40s we got a frost last night. I still have to bring my seedlings in or cover them at night. They say it's safe to plant them after Memorial day, "they" were wrong this year. I think someone needs to tell God it's spring here.

Wow so why did you burn the fire? Was it too cold? I wish I could have been there. I like fires, too. Wooooh, I thougth you are quitting smoking? Granpa Bob! We live in the city so we aren't supposed (some people do, of course) burn wood or trash. We used to burn wood at my grandparents' house because they live out in the country and not in the city. Have a wonderful day. Pablo

Because I had wood. Because it was nighttime. because I love fires. I do bonfires just because I like them is all. No particular reasons. June 1st is my quit date. I live in the city as well 63,000 people imn my city. Ther's various ordinances as to how high the flames can be, how close to a building, how large the pit can be, what can't be burned etc etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I like bonfires, and the smell of the wood. It's nice to sit out at night keeping warm by the fire. I'm surprised your drinking coffee at night though, doesn't it keep you awake? I would drink hot chocolate, though that has some caffeine in it too.

I love them a lot as well. I have tyhem whenever the urge hits or I have the wood. I only sleep 4 or 5 hours so it's no biggie. I get to bed about 3 then up around 8 or so. Coffee doesn't affect me as I drink 5 or more opots daily. I am immune to caffiene now days it seems. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Nice looking fire you got going there. The picture of you with your cup of coffee and cig looks like there are still some big pieces of wood that can be burned. haha I like the smell of good smelling wood. I also love a bonfire or camp fire.

I am more like you wife. It's okay to have the fire but I really don't like the smell of smoke especially the next day when I wash my hair and it stinks! Really stinks.

hi Grandpa Bob I love the smell of fresh cut wood burning. I like a bonfire and love camping and sitting' around a pine wood fire and eating smores and roasting 'hot dogs. we even tell ghost stories, such fun. my son on the other hand dislikes wood smoke as he seems to be allergic to it. we had some terrible smoke odors here' last fall with the wildfires that burned up all our canyons only a few miles from tustin proper.once it looked like the city of tustin was in for the fire then the wind shifted and burned down in the canyons instead. a lot of people had homes in those canyons. that kind of smoke' smells so different and really toxic too. we had to close our 'windows and put on our air conditioners for over two weeks as the air was full of smoke and ashes and toxic fumes. not at all like a nice pine wood campfire at all.

l feel so sorry for CA, it seems every year the fires get worse and I keep wondering how CA still has enough forest for a fire.

Oh I love the smell of wood burning. We used to have wonderful bonfires in maine and then for days after my jacket would smell so amazing. I think the smell of a fire and the smoke is just intoxicating.

I love bonfires and the smells. We haven't had a little camp fire going in a long time. I may have to set it up for us to do that one night and roast some marshmellows and hot dogs.

I love bonfires, but where I live the houses are too close together to have one safely. I'm a border line pyro I think. I love to start a nice big bon fire on the beach at the cottage though. Enjoy Grandpa! And wow, that's really hot for this time of year.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....LOVEthe smell of wood smoke long as it's not piss elm (that's what a friend calls it lol), a type of tree that reeks while cutting and burning it. Over 100 degrees thou? dangggggg....a fire that hot would have me running from it sweating my butt off.

I loe the smell of a bonfire, especially if it is good wood that is burning..I don't like the smoke in my eyes though and sometimes the smell on my clothes isn't good, but the smell of the air is wonderful..

i love bonfire but it must be done in an open place. because i don't love the smell of smoke, i can't breath well in a smoky area, though i am glad that i don't have an asthma that would just make the situation worst.
