I enjoy watching the news to be informed. Do you watch at a certain time? Is it the morning, afternoon or evening news? I watch in the evening usually at 11:00pm. My local news helps me learn what happened in my city.
Do you watch every news story? I do skip some of them, as I'll go get a drink or sandwich, if the story doesn't interest me at all. I really enjoy the uplifting stories where somebody is saved or receives a promotion for doing a great job.

I will read the news sometimes, depends on my interest to the news. Especially the big news, I will keep on updating myself about the news.
But not necessary the big news only. Certain news in a small column I will read too.
Normally I will prefer to hear the new frrom television, faster and easier.

It is fast to watch it on television. Also quick online, as I regularly visit news sites. Thanks for the reply.

Hi there...I think it is important for us to watch the news to know what's going on around us. Like you, I also don't watch every story, but I make sure I catch the headline.
I watch the news though I don't find it as interesting and as fun as watching a movie, but I know that it is important, so I make it a point that I get to see it or check it out online.

I like movie is more entertaining. There are times that the movie can be as informative as the news. Thanks for the reply.

Howard Thanks for posting. I am going to start posting discussions about the news in the coming weeks. Lately I have come on and hunted for topics to make a reply. I like to post on about 10 a day to make payout, but this month won't make payout unless I make a very big push this week.

I would prefer watching the nightly news, but my schedule doesn't adjust to watching at that time with walking the dog, making supper, running kids to sports. I put the TV on in the morning as soon as I get up as we have a several hour long news show on one of our local stations. This works best. They do have human interest and celebrity stores too and that's always a plus. I love the newspaper on the weekend and read that instead of watching any news shows.

Rose I watch David also; however, there are times he is able to put me to sleep quickly. Now Craig is a completely different story, as my husband shakes his head when its on. He can't believe what Craig has to say at anytime. Thanks for posting, as I'm so thrilled to see my friend list likes to be as informed as me.

First welcome to Mylot. Thanks for the reply. I do enjoy reading the newspaper also. I'll admit the paper is great to be able to find more details about a topic.

I do not watch news at particular time. I just watch news when I get time or when I am in mood to watch news. I read newspaper regularly. I do not have any specific time like morning, afternoon, or evening to watch news on television.

I do just about the same thing. I watch in the morning for about 10-15 minutes, just to see what the weather is going to be like for real. Then in the evening I watch about 30 minutes to see what is going on in the world, and get an update on the weather. I don't like watching the news for too long, because most of it is depressing. I forget who said it, but its true that "If it bleeds, it leads". Unfortunately in this society most people like the blood and gore, love to hear about the horrible things that go on in the world, and to keep ratings up, this is exactly what news shows show.

I enjoy the ABC news at 6:30 with Charles Gibson. I have TIVO so I record it and skip through all the commercials and the sports reports when he has them.

Unless I'm out somewhere, I might catch the news when it comes on at six. Sometimes I'll even watch at five. I know they usually show the same things but at the earlier times they show a longer clip of each news story than they do at 10. That's when I usually watch and catch up on everything that's gone on during the day.

I like seeing the longer clip also. The special pieces on the local news have been quite informative, as they have been going out to different cities in this area and showing us different businesses. Thanks for the reply.

I watch the news everyday, I watch it twice a day the first time is at 1.30pm and then I watch it again at 6.30pm, although I do not get to hear much of it at the later time as the kids are at home. They make that much noise that I cannot hear a word of it!
I also lose interest in it when all the stories are sad and depressing, it just gets too me, gets me down and makes me feel miserable.

This is one of the reason I try to catch some of the local news, as they always have at least 1 great uplifting story each day. A few days ago it was about a man that was graduating college with his son. It was really special. Thanks for the reply.

We usually have the 6:00 news on but don't really get to watch much of that because I am just getting home from work, my husband and I are talking, the phone is ringing, stuff is going on so our best bet is the 11:00 news. Sometimes we watch CNN to see what's going on internationally but we can't count on them to tell the whole story so we don't depend on them.

I like to watch it at nine in the evenings, when the day has come to an end, and the news have been properly arranged and finalized for the day. I like NDTV India the most.
