What do you do with the money you earn online? The story about how I got scammed

I started doing PTC about 6 months ago and I ran into these 2 sites that had so many great reviews and so many payment proofs so I decided to join. I didn't have referrals so it took me about 3 months to reach $10. Then I reach the payment and I wasn't getting it for about a month, I guessed that was a normal period of waiting but I went to the forums of these two sites (I think that the same person owns both of them) and there were a lot of people complaining about the payment being late. So about a month and a half I asked for the payment I finally got it. I was soooo happy about it. I got the payment from the both sites the same day so I found 20$ on my Alertpay account. Immediately I started promoting the 2 sites because I finally had a payment proof. That was a great news, I didn't use that money because I wanted to invest it and I needed $10 so I just left it on my account. About 2 weeks after I got the money I went to check my Alertpay account and the money was gone, I saw that the 2 payments were reversed. I was really p*ssed and I was sorry I hadn't withdraw the money before because I guessed that then they couldn't have taken it. But I was wrong. I went to check both forums of these two sites and a lot of people complained about this problem, the people who had used the money they got from these two sites had negative balance in their account so I was really glad I hadn't used it. But can you imagine that, you work hard you get your money and then they take it back. Is there any way to prevent the money to be reversed back to the one who gace it to you? Did something like this ever happened to you? What did you do?

It was soo bad to you, we are sorry for this, you could have requested that money, so that you may not lost that valuable money of yours, any way take care in future earnings, they are cheated with you, I don't have any experience like that, I will take care of my all payments in my earnings, thank you for informations like this way.

I had requested the money and they had paid it to me but they took it back if I had spend it they would took it back anyway and I would owe 20$ to Alertpay. That's so stupid.

They can reverse payments? I thought that they would have to request it first...that is backwards...as consumers we would have to request payments, so why shouldn't they, you should complain to alertpay...that way the site will not be able to use their services anymore.

Hi lorelai. I had problems in the past with some scams sites that don't paid me and gone. But I never had a payment reverse and I am surprise that they can do this. I am so sorry for you because it really bother a person. Be careful with the sites you join in the next time.

Yes, exactly that happened to me from buxtc. New site, paid in euro, payout was only one euro, so I got it pretty quickly, requested, got paid within 2 days, and started promoting it. Then the site disappeared, and a few days later the money got reversed. As you I hadn't used the money so that was good, but still. I am more concerned about Alertpay than the sites. How can a payment processor allow reversals of rightful payments without the permission from the owners of the account! I sent them an email about that but haven't gotten a reply yet! I am very sorry for you, obviously one euro is nothing in comparison to the time an effort behind 10$, but I still understand the disappointment. Now I look up the sites very carefully before joining. I have one site that has paid me twice (check out my blog if you are interested) but from the past experience I will never be certain, and I will treat every payout as a bonus rather then counting on it! Good luck with your future money making!

I know what you mean, I also have several sites I got paid from but somehow I dont trust to any of them any more because now I know that they can take back the money whenever they want. I understand that this option is for people who bought something and the seller didn't send them the product so that they can take back the money if they got cheated but this is little bit too much.

Wow! I have not heard of that but what two sites were they? Please share so we all can know to avoid them. I don't know if there is a way to stop reversals, other than take out the money asap. Did you contact Alertpay about it? I never had that happen, so I don't know if I belong to the same sites. Please share and I am so sorry that happened. Thank goodness you had not invest any of your own money in there.

I guess not enough go on there and complain about it. If more people are screwed and report it, they might get a bad rap and people will avoid them. Either way, I am done with them, so it's a moot point for me.

What a mean thing to happen! I didn't realise there were so many sites which paid money - but I don't have an account, so I wish I could have my money put into a charity for animals. I think the sites should have an account for this, so we could do it if we didn't want to get our own PayPal account.

There are many hones sites that pay money but there are also a whole bunch of sites that don't pay and just scam people. Your idea is really nice but I guess you can always ask the site for their paypal account if you want to earn money for them and enter e-mails address they give you as your own paypal e-mail address I mean account ID.

I have heard of this happening to lots of people with several different sites. I am sorry this happened to you. I think people like that should be banned from having websites or being on the internet. I mean that is just rediculous to say they pay, pay out and then take it from you! Childish Games!! I am not sure of alert pay, I have an account, but don't use it. lol My guess would be if you transfer the money to your checking or spend it they can't touch it, but you already said people who used it had a neg in their acct, so I guess that wouldn't work. lol I don't think there is anything you can do to prevent this unless you request a check for payout. Good Luck in getting some better sites. I do have some listed on my blog which is listed on my profile page if you're interested. I also have payment proofs as recent as last week. Have a great day ~Icy~

Your not completely safe with choosing a check for payment either being they can cancel that check on you before you even receive it, therefore, creating havoc on your checking account.

I am going to check your blog. Thanks for your kind words. I am a member of some sites that paid me and never reversed the money (or maybe I should say didn't reverse the money yet, considering the fact that they can obviously do that whenever they want) Yeah, spending the money or withdrawing it wouldn't help because they would take it anyway, I am just surprised that Alertpay allows them to do this. I mean, ok the option to reverse the money should exist but only if someone had a really good reason and not like this without warning and explanation.

yup. i had so many experiences like these before. but lucky me, i was able to really make good money. just when i heard and read about negative feedbacks starting to get into forums, i immediately withdrew the money i had with them. sometimes, it's just about the right timing. ofcourse, i lost some money, too. but not too much. but that's how we learn it, right? just be careful next time. anne

So sorry to hear that you had a chargeback against your earning from an internet scheme. I had that experience too slightly over two years back although it wasn't with Alertpay. I was doing a popular autosurf and had my earnings sent to my StormPay account. It seemed that StormPay was on some kind of crusade against autosurfs and deemed that the scheme in question was some kind of ponzi. So they took their own initiative to do chargebacks against any earnings received in members' StormPay accounts, and I lost more than $1K as a result. Those who were involved in this famous autosurf will know which site I am talking about. It was frustrating to lose that money I earned. So I can sympathize with you on your situation, because I know how it hurts to be involved in one.

OMG $1K that's really a lot of money! I am really sorry for you and it really makes me wanna stop trying to earn money online but I know that there are some honest sites and that keeps me going. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi lorelai, I haven't had an experience like that, but I really don't make very much money online. I find myLot to be one of the best sites, in fact the best for paying on time, and I have checked out a few others. Blessings.

Hello lorelai. I haven't ever not been paid if I was supposed to be paid by a website. Well, there are some websites where I haven't met the minimum pay requirements yet, but I don't think that's what you are talking about. If it happened to me, I would definitely use the internet to name them and let everyone know on every website where I have a presence what the name of the website was and specifically what they did to rip me off. As long as you are truthful, you cannot be punished for doing this. Well, I guess they could continue to keep your money, but they are doing that anyway! I am so sorry to hear this happened to you and I hope you really get the word out about these websites that are ripping off people. Take care, lorelai. PearlGrace

Hi PearlGrace, I think you have given very good advice. We have to spread the news all around the Internet about these sites that make you work so hard for all the little pennies or less than pennies that they give you. If they were honest and said, for instance, that they would pay $0.05 or half a cent and actually pay you that, then you would know up front what you are getting into. It makes me mad to see this wonderful too -- the Internet -- being used for evil purposes and for dishonesty, lies, scams and taking advantage of good people. I wish there were better ways to stop the scam and spam on the Net.

Can Alertpay help you some how? If anything report it to them and they block their accounts until they investigate. At least they can't do it to someone else in the future. You do the work--You need your payment!! They are thieves. Thanks you for your warnings !! This reminds me to do some research!!

Sorry to hear this. This was the first time i heard something like that as many have told. One suggestion would be that transfer all ur money to paypal account, there i have not heard such things or u can spend that money. Or work on more trusted sites. Work on survey site where u can earn faster I know one site where u get 4-25$ to fill up a single survey. want link?

That has never happened to me. I think you should contact your alert pay and see if they can figure out what happened, maybe they can fight on your behalf. I would also complain to the web site that did this and see what they say about it, perhaps it was mistake. If they refuse to give you the money back, I would call them out and give the name out on sites like this one so that other people will be warned not to join.

good day. I guess it's really a cruel world out there. Where people give hope that you can earn online, work some of your time with that when you can be resting or doing something else. Paid you and in a matter of time take it back. What a scam and I really can't imagine why people can do that. for money? I think you could report it to FBI cybercrime division if they have one. And also you can discredit them by using yor blog and encourage others to do so. to prevent other people from falling to this trap and continue to finance their scamming activity.

That is why probably I only trust sites that uses PayPal instead of AlertPay because paypal acutally has checking processes. And with the money, i'll probably invest in some more sites to earn some more money.

Well I heard that people on paypal had the same problem. Earning online is really risky and not only because some sites don't from the experience I can say that even once that you have the money you can count on it because the sender can always reverse it.

I know it seems small and insignificant, but are you guys going to sue the website over this? I use the money to help out with the cost of upgrading my businesses. I actually have all of the sites I play on hooked up to my corporate name and such. It works out to maybe an extra $200+ per year and that helps sometimes to a small biz.

I wasn't really planing to sue them? I haven't invested any money in the site but I invested my time so I want to be paid. I wrote an e-amil to alertpay about it so I really wanna hear what they have to say about it.

Be careful the next time you join paying sites. Coz there are really a lot of scam sites wherein our protection is very low against it. So i suggest to everyone to asks on forums if this site are reliable or try researching on net as well if what reputation this site has... =)
