Garlic lowers blood pressure. But,don't assume you canjust have a little garlic in your meals and not adhere to any other advice.1tsp mince of fresh or lightly cooked garlic daily lower blood pressure, along with a low fat diet. I love to eat lightly cooked garlic.I've got used to the smell because i value natural food and medicines.

I love the smell of garlic in my food. But I am already suffering from low blood pressure. Does that mean I should not have garlic at all?

That's not true people with low blood pressure should limit the intake of garlic to not more than one clove a day, because it has a effect on lowering blood pressure.low blood pressure needs more oxygen to correct the condition.Garlic is a good oxygen carrier.pls consult your physician. cheers...

maykal, if you aren't on any prescription medications for your low blood pressure, consider taking hawthorn berry capsules. Hawthorn berry regulates blood pressure. Mine has a tendency to go too high, then drop like a stone. The result is usually a black out or and extreme dizzy spell. If I stay on the hawthorn berry that doesn't happen. If you are on prescription meds, don't take any thing natural without consulting your DR. The interaction of meds and herbs could be very devastating.

truly indeed that it helps in lowering BP but let it be know that garlic is not a replacement for BP medications specially in acute stage. garlic won't take effect right away when you take it, it takes a long process to have it's effect be felt or achieved. in other words, if you have high blood pressure and you'll going to take garlic with the notion that it helps in lowering the blood pressure, but there would never be any effect coz it's effect, as i said, is NOT immediate. you need to take garlic day after day and for longer period for it to take effect. so don't make it as a substitute for any prescribe antihypertensive medications and for not going to your doctor.

I agree.Garlic is not a replacement for BP in acute stage.Garlic has an effect on your blood pressure but,not right away taking garlic for a time definitely has an effect. If somebody under medication should not take only garlic as an substitute.

Hello, roshan!you are right.consumption of raw garlic in the morning in empty stomach helps lowering the high blood pressure.garlic contains the anti-oxidant allicin, which blocks toxins produced by viruses and bacterias.it can lower the cholesterol and may reduce the risk of heart diseases by lowering the blood pressure.it also reduces the risk of certain types of cancer.so it is better to take a clove of garlic daily.thanx.

You are right,i could still remember that i started a project work with a reseacher sometimes ago where we worked on the effect of garlic on the blood pressure,we used rabbit as our experimental animal. Although the problem in things like this is knowing that the right dosage to use or apply.Knowing the right dosage to use for a common man could be difficult, but this does not mean that it doesn't work, ofcourse it does.

Pretty good advice, thanks so much for letting everyone here know about that. Yes, I boil a few figs sometimes and drink it as water I also eat the figs. I am one of those persons who cooks with garlic. I attempt to eat it raw, but it is too stong for me to do that. I heard it acts as an antibiotic aslo.

That is very interesting information, but I do not think that is something I would do because I have never liked garlic and it makes me sick if I try to eat it or smell it,so for now I will stick to my blood pressure medicine.

An old saying is "garlic can cure all the disease". It does do good to our health. It can not only cure a lot of disease but also protect us from some diseases. But a little of it will work. It is not proper to have too much because it can stimulate the stomach.
