Due to health issues not worth mentioning (who doesn't have health issue here? : ) ) I haven't been able to settle down and post this discussion so far this week. But now I can and I'm happy to tell you guys about this. Remember my rent issue? Despite only a 13 dollar increase in income since January of 2008, my rent share (from the Housing Authority) was going to more than double what I was currently paying. So I had a meeting and she kept saying 'the computer says' sticking to the thought that the computer could make no errors. My last hope was her telling me to bring in all my out of pocket medical expenses to see how that would bring my rent down, if at all. So I'm thinking OK, I imagine my rent will still be more than I'm paying now, but maybe I can at least get it down by ten dollars. They tell me right off medical expenses don't always mean you'll catch a break. So all this time I know God is going to take care of it. I started a discussion in the past how I was going to look at it like an adventure. I had no control over it, so I was like OK God, I can't wait to see how You work this out! And you know what? He did. And I'm humbled to say I sold God short. I didn't expect Him to be this benevolent. I got a letter last Friday informing me of my new rent cost. NOTHING! That is right, nothing. My medical expenses were such that I no longer have to pay any portion of my rent. I am so greatful. I was supposed to have my dog fixed 6 months ago due to apartment regulations, but couldn't afford it. Thanks to this new development I can afford to finally take care of that in two months time. This doesn't mean I'm rich (that is laughable) but it does mean one huge burden is off my back, which I am so grateful for. Thanks to all who prayed about this with me. I'd love to hear any good news you have to share. Or maybe something you'd like to share that I could help pray about with you. I know some people don't put stock in prayer, and that's OK, this is just if you want to share. Thanks!

This is such great news to hear Ambie...and what a relief it must be. I always remember a very powerful saying I've heard for a long time..."Let go and let God" In other words instead of getting frazzled and in a panic state about how things will work out..turn it over to the higher source. Another is to think that everything is working out in Divine Order. Things then really do have a way of working themselves out. Uh, as for me...you know my "adventures" all too well, like my SSI benefits being cut off last year....some "divine" inspiration led me to contact my Congressman and I would say in record time (For SS) my benefits were reinstated.

I want your congressman. When I tried to get the one in my district to help with a previous SSI problem it was like I shouldn't have even bothered. I think I need to pick a new discrict! lol

Hmm! Pretty neat Ambie. I apologize for missing the prior discussion. I'm quite glad to see another issue on your end resolved as I've seen how difficult some of them are. I can't think of much to pray for on my end Ambie. Perhaps some health, relaxation, career. ;p Not crucial, but just things that popped up.

This is one of the greatest testaments to the power of God that I have ever heard.. I do believe in prayer and I do know that God answers prayers.. I will ask that you pray for my family as God does know our needs, just remember us.. It doesn't hurt to have someone pray for you, as a matter of fact, I could use the prayers of anyone who would care to remember me.. I am so thankful that I got this email and had the opportunity to read it.. I thank God for the very fact the he is still in control and he still answers prayers.. Have a blessed evening and God Bless you again and again.. Donna

Sometimes I have a tendency to think only about my own problems. But I know so many people have day to day struggles that are just as hard as my own, if not harder. Your family will be in my prayers, and I'm truly making a list. I don't want to forget anyone's requests. We all need all the support that is available to us. : )

What wonderful news you got. I too have health issues, and I'm on disability. I'm going to be checking next week to see if I can get assistance with my rent also. Normally I could pay it, but they keep raising it as well as everything else going up up up. As for your dog, have you checked with the local ASPCA? Many of them will give you a coupon to have the pet spayed or neutered at either a reduced cost or for free. I've had two of my pets fixed that way. If nothing else check with the vet. Many of them will work with people on that issue. Good luck.

I really hope you can get some help with the rent. The slightest increase in any bill for a disabled person is a huge deal. There just isn't room for change.

Hey that is great AmbiePam, I just found out the other day my niece who is seventeen(as of June 27th) is pregnant again after just having a miscarriage in June. Her and her husband have been married almost a year and just got baptised the 5th of July on my birthday at the church cookout. It was something I was glad to be apart of and see and hopefully things will start to go right for them now they have handed their lives over to god as you have. I am so glad to hear that he has done grreat things for you and helped you through these trying times. I believe in prayer and know that it dos alot of good and that they are power in the numbers of who pray for the same thing for someone in need. So I wish you luck in all the things you need it in.

Some more news that is surprising. My older brothers girlfriend my be pregnant. He has been wanting kids for a long time just never found the right one to settle down with and now he has found himself one who balances him and loves him. She is older then him but it would be great if he could finally experience being a father like he has wanted to all these years. He is almost 40. So fo rhim this would be a blessing.

wowww... that is really a great news ambiepam... i'm glad that you manage to sort out your rent issue and you ended up don't have to pay anything... that will help your financial burden a lot especially during this hard time... yes, God is always good and He provides us with what we need at His right time... i have so many great news to share about His kindness and mercy that i don't think words can express enough... that's why i always pray everyday and surrender my life wholly to Him to guide and protect me... life without Him is meaningless and in this cruel world, i don't have the strength to walk by myself without Him... take care and have a nice day...

I'm just really relieved because Sherlock needed to get fixed. I never know when the apartment people will ask about things like that, plus it does keep him from getting certain health problems down the line if that is taken care of. : )

I'm so glad to hear that you have had this mirical! Now, please put some prayers for Maggiepie - she's barely making enough to live where she does, doesn't have the money to move. What she needs is both money to pay the rent for the rest of the year and then even more if they increase the rent around the first.

I'm so happy for your good news. The prayers really came through for you! I myself don't have any good or bad things recently that I've had to pray for, but a few years ago I went through a lot of bad stuff that I wouldn't have been able to handle without God's help. Last week, I had a migraine that only lasted one day. I took my medication, and that helps, and I am usually able to function, but I still don't feel great. I was surprised that it just entirely went away. I found out later that a friend was praying for me, and I believe that's why my migraine was only for a day instead of 3 or 4 days.

Oh that's great. I don't think everyone really grasps how severe migraines are and how long they can last. When I get one I call my parents and ask them to pray.

I think the Public Housing where we are is really good. You have to earn less than a certain amount each year and pay a percentage of what income you do have, including any benefits, but that means that you never pay more than the percentage your income went up by. At the moment, it is 23% of our income, but still so much cheaper and easier than private rentals, which we would struggle to pay the rent of a 4 bedroom home for. That's great that they did sort things out for you.

Yeah, it was the first time I was ever grateful for medical bills. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts, I just had that many medical bills. I was hesitate to even give them to the people because they made it sounds like it wouldn't help me at all. Now I wonder if that is what they say to try to get people to avoid having any deductions. I hope not. Over the years I've become skeptical of any government office claiming to want to help. I started off thinking they were all there to help me, but after years of dealing with them, I'm starting to think about all the people who need this kind of help, and may not be getting it. I'm just glad God helped me out. No one in that office was going to! LOL

My gift from God.. Tiffany - Tiffany on my right My angel!
WOW your story just gave me goosebumps. How wonderful for you that everything turned out the way it was supposed to. I ABSOLUTELY believe in the power of prayer! How wonderful that the Housing Agency has a heart! Our 17 year old daughter was born on Christmas Eve at 1lb 11 1/2 oz. I prayed EVERYDAY that God would let her live and come home and have a normal life. THAT prayer was answered. She has NEVER had any major health problems related to her being 3 months premature. She just wears glasses and braces (typical teen stuff) She is beautiful, talented and makes me laugh EVERY day of our lives. She is truly an angel and a gift from God!

Oh, Pam that is so good to hear, and such a blessing. Do I have anything to pray about, absolutely, and always. Newest thing is that the "jerk" who was my hubby's boss fired him yesterday. Set up a lie that let him do it. Bob was just wanting to do it to him first, but we were needing to wait until after the end of this month, so there would be insurance when we went to see the neurologist. So pray for the just right job for Bob.

Maybe, hopefully, this will lead to something way better than what he had. I can't believe how some people behave when it is an actual person's livelihood on the line.

Wow, He really came through for you, didn't he? That is so great! I put a lot of stock in prayer. It's gotten me through some huge difficulties that I did not see any other way out of. I would ask for you to pray that my husband does better with his job. It is very slow this summer as most of his clients are schools and they are closed. He has to spend so much money on gasoline.

You know I think the less government interference the better for our countries, but the gas thing is such a burden. I can't imagine having a job where travel is such a necessity. I hope this dry spell ends up being just a bump in the road to a tremendous amount of business to come for him.

It's pretty amazing what can happen when you fully trust! I am so glad things worked out like this for you! You strick me as the type of person who is really deserving of a break for a change. Me? Sure I have prayer concerns, things I've tried to put to God so many times. I say try because I guess I never trusted enough. I have no clue what His plan is but it sure seems like it's taking way too long to come around.

Good work. Did you know that many places have a spay/neuter bus? It is a program for all regardless of income. They spay/neuter your pet as well as vaccinate them. They also put in a mirco chip, which i dont like but hey for $65 bucks for all this is a steel. You can usually find it under Spay wagon, i think the mspca runs this program. They really just want people to neuter/spay their pets.

I found a place who would do it cheaper than my vet for only slightly more than you mentioned with no vaccines (I was able to get his 3 yr. vaccines for him last week), but it was about an hour away and in a bad part of town. I have a friend who is heavily involved in animal rescue and she told me about it. We couldn't find anything else better, and I wasn't sure about going to that part of town especially when I didn't know the people. The vet I go to I've had for years and she treats the animals as if they are her own.

Wow, you have had shingles for quite sometime. My aunt had it several years ago so I don't remember how long it lasted. But I remember she was miserable.
