I never started drinking coffee and I have heard that there are teens that need coffee these days. So i thought I would ask, how old were you when you had your first cup of coffee.

I stopped drinking coffee last year and it didn't affect me, thankfully.

I was probably in my twenties, and I didn't love it. I still very much prefer a latte to actual coffee, and I don't even crave them all the time. Coffee has gotten much more mainstream with all ages and I see tons of teens at my local coffee house, although many of them are drinking "fancy coffee" too. I think that to a certain extent we all "need" coffee more these days. But perhaps a better way of thinking about that is to say that we could all do with a little bit of calming down and slowing down instead of caffeinating ourselves to keep doing more?

Coffee never woke me up but I used to love to drink it then last year I ran out of milk, which I always put in my coffee, and found out I can't stand black coffee so decided to quit

Funny you should ask, sarah.I say this because I had my first cup of coffee when I was just a child. I begged for it so much that my aunt and uncle(who could refuse me nothing), finally gave in and allowed me to have a cup if it was greatly diluted with milk. I was hooked -and still am to this day, although I no longer take it with milk. My day does not really start until I've had my first cup of coffee to get my eyes open.

Hello! I can't really remember how old I was when I had my first cup of coffee. I can't remember what was it like, neither. I guess I was 11 or 12, but I just guess, I cannot be sure of that. Who knows? What matters is that I am not addicted to it, I drink it but not as an addiction. And only the coffee is not my favorite, it has to be milk with it. Otherwise, I would just pass the opportunity of drinking it. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I agree with you, coffee without milk in it is awful.

I started to have a little of coffee when I was a little child. Perhaps at that time I tried it for fun. I am not sure how old I was at that time, maybe around 6 years old. My family told me that I woke up at night because of the coffee. I love China

As children we never had coffee ,it wasnt the done thing,it was always a cup of tea,and that tes was brewed with care. The teapot would be warmed ,and then the loose tea would be taken from the tea caddy, and then hot water would be poured over the tea and it would be left until it infused/brewed,and lol then it would be poured in the small china tea cups, and milk and sugar would be added as needed.

i have drinking coffee since i was 12 years old i belive. my mom drinks coffee a lot, and i would join her coffee session with her friends, but of course my coffee is not as strong as hers, a little bitter but more of the sweet taste, because i would put plenty of sugar into it. then i as grew older, i wanted my coffee not so sweet and stronger too, just like my mom's

I was 7, on my way to a fishing trip with my father in Encinada. I was addicted until 3 years ago, when I had to work for Starbucks.

I can't remember when I first drank coffee but I know it was when I was very young. I was curious how it tasted so I had a cup of it. I will still fall asleep even after drinking coffee. It does not seem to have any alerting effects on me. The only things that happens to me when I drink coffee is that my breath smells like coffee and my hand trembles for some time after drinking it.

My mother was a teacher, and sometimes she would take me to school with her. When she took me, it was my job to make her a pot of coffee... remember the old perculator pots? We anyways, I was very good at it because it was such a reward to make my mom her coffee... so I would make it and then to make sure it was good, I would taste it, atleast a 1/4 of a cup... Ripe old age of 4-5.....

I couldnt remember when was that, but I think I started to drink coffee around 16 or 17 years old, but I do not do the pure coffee thing, I started to mix a small amount of coffee in my milk. The first time I did that, taste good in fact, the smell of the milk is quite neutralized sort of thing. Eventually, I don't mix milk and coffee, I use coffeemate instead of milk. I am a coffee person - I love coffee when it is brewed, espresso, cappucino etc., I don't think it is harmful to teens.. do you ?

Everyone is different. Me, if I have too much caffeine I get jitterly and it takes about 3-4 hours to stop. I get this way drinking too much of soda with caffeine.I never tried or had a desire to try coffee when I was a teen and nothing changed. So I think it is up to the person and how well their system can tolerate caffeine.

I am probably bad but I have an 8-year old son that for the past year is crazy for coffee. At first, I just let him taste it...he will take the cup from me and down all of it and ask for more. He is on a 1-cup limit! The coffee actually has a soothing affect on him...it calms him. Isn't that odd...it's kind of like how a stimulant does ADHD kids by calming them. I usually sip my coffee as do most people...he downs it like it isn't even hot! Never seen anything like it!
